1. we seem to be playing well within ourrselves and we didn't get out of second gear the entire match. I felt the exact same thing when we played arsenal.
2. we move the ball along far too slowly, always to a man we were taking an extra touch that meant exeter could organise themselves. maybe this is because the team is frightened to lose possession away from home (which is fair enough). we do need to quicken the pace the passing if we want to cut through team more regularly.
3. carroll doesn't look fit and the by product of that is his touch is letting him down, as he gets fitter he will get sharper, I'm sure of it.
4. the team supported carroll more which was pleasing, there was one time the ball was hung up to him and when he won the heading there were liverpool bodies who latched onto the second ball. I'd like to see this happen more often until it becomes the norm rather than the exception.
5. adam long diagonal are begining to piss me off now because he is attempting it every other pass because all it does is cheaply give the ball away. it was interest that he didn't attempt a single one after the break, dollars to donuts that was because kenny told him to cut that shit out. alonso is a better passer than adam will ever be and he doesn't attempt that pass all the time, he keeps it simple and if bread and butter pass is on he takes it. maybe adam is trying too hard to impress. I will so though, I thought adam's corners (before carroll came on) were excellent.
6. henderson was fouled. I don't give a shit that he didn't protest, the exeter defender stuck out a leg and henderson fell over it. maybe he played for it but he was clipped no one the less. I like henderson's crosses and he seems a little more direct. he is improving with every game, by jan he'll be awesome 😉
7. suarez
very head up and if he sees someone in a better position he will lay the ball on for them but he is not so unselfish he wont take responsibility if he has a shot on goal. truly a great attitude for stiker. definately coming round to sunny's prediction that suarez will create as much as he scores.
8. skrtel
I'm glad he has moved down the pecking order (to be fair he's been injured) because even though he doesn't give many penalties away there is a fuck up in. too quick to dive in, not literally, I mean too quick stick in a leg rather than jocky the attacker away from the danger area. I think he will be 4th choice one coates arrives.
all in all not great, not bad just average. a very proffesional job from players who may feel this competition is beneath them.
