1. we seem to be playing well within ourrselves and we didn't get out of second gear the entire match. I felt the exact same thing when we played arsenal.

2. we move the ball along far too slowly, always to a man we were taking an extra touch that meant exeter could organise themselves. maybe this is because the team is frightened to lose possession away from home (which is fair enough). we do need to quicken the pace the passing if we want to cut through team more regularly.

3. carroll doesn't look fit and the by product of that is his touch is letting him down, as he gets fitter he will get sharper, I'm sure of it.

4. the team supported carroll more which was pleasing, there was one time the ball was hung up to him and when he won the heading there were liverpool bodies who latched onto the second ball. I'd like to see this happen more often until it becomes the norm rather than the exception.

5. adam long diagonal are begining to piss me off now because he is attempting it every other pass because all it does is cheaply give the ball away. it was interest that he didn't attempt a single one after the break, dollars to donuts that was because kenny told him to cut that shit out. alonso is a better passer than adam will ever be and he doesn't attempt that pass all the time, he keeps it simple and if bread and butter pass is on he takes it. maybe adam is trying too hard to impress. I will so though, I thought adam's corners (before carroll came on) were excellent.

6. henderson was fouled. I don't give a shit that he didn't protest, the exeter defender stuck out a leg and henderson fell over it. maybe he played for it but he was clipped no one the less. I like henderson's crosses and he seems a little more direct. he is improving with every game, by jan he'll be awesome 😉

7. suarez
very head up and if he sees someone in a better position he will lay the ball on for them but he is not so unselfish he wont take responsibility if he has a shot on goal. truly a great attitude for stiker. definately coming round to sunny's prediction that suarez will create as much as he scores.

8. skrtel
I'm glad he has moved down the pecking order (to be fair he's been injured) because even though he doesn't give many penalties away there is a fuck up in. too quick to dive in, not literally, I mean too quick stick in a leg rather than jocky the attacker away from the danger area. I think he will be 4th choice one coates arrives.

all in all not great, not bad just average. a very proffesional job from players who may feel this competition is beneath them.

Any of our players who thinks this competition is beneath them can fuck off

FFS Carroll is fit. He's playing in the exact same way he did at Newcastle.
It's not like he was Van Basten there and turned into Eric Meijer when he joined us.
Face it, we're not gonna get more out of him and I don't mean that in a negative way.

The only thing he needs is confidence, luck, good deliveries and a some sharpness.

Carroll is a very good player, when he's utilised in the right way. The team just needs to gel.

Don't you normally get 'sharpness' by getting fitter?

Thought it was pretty dull in the most part.

Few positives all the same...Wilson was surprisingly decent - stronger and more assured. Carroll bagged a goal. Maxi can still rattle the net and Suarez is just sheer brilliant, what i love about him is the way he treats every match in the same fashion whether it's Man United or Exeter City, just a class act.

On the negative side of things, our two(young) full backs looked a little lost, Henderson is still very meh in my view - he's a fucking weird one to work out and Carroll's touch is still similar to that of a Sunday league striker.

Anyway, fuck it, we're into the next round.

Is he fuck fit. He's a fair way from full match fitness & even full physical fitness.

It's taking a long bloody time, you have to admit mate.

Being fit and being match fit are two different things IMO.
Sharpness isn't just about physical fitness, it's about how quick you react, your awareness etc.¨
These are things that also improve with confidence. The kid just needs more games, more good results and a settled side. He'll come around.
Or maybe I got the word wrong.

Yep.

Caroll doesn't suit our style of play and that is unlikely to change.

Henderson is currently a waste of a shirt, although against the mighty Exeter he had his best game yet.

Adam was only playing the long diagonal balls as Caroll was up front and it was against Exeter.

Meireles is a good player but a fanny.

I need another drink.

Hendo will come good. He's trying more and looking better. Confidence will come. Chillax bretheren

I only saw the highlights, but Henderson looked decent.

Carroll's goal was a banger !

Henderson looks good but there's no end product. The only thing I remember him do is running into the box and falling over.

Our shape was dreadfully disjointed and contributed to an ugly spectacle. There was no real rhythm to our play or our attacks. As per usual, the non-contributing members of the side just plodded it around until one of our better players could pick it up and produce something out of nothing.

Hollywood Adam is really starting to piss me off too.

Thought Robinson looked good though.

And "secondary pass" for second goal - a simple, but well-timed ball to Suarez who then squared for Maxi.

Only saw the first half on my lunch break but thought Suarez was great. A bit greedy at times when an easier pace was on, but a goal and two assists, keep it up please.

Delighted Andy got a goal. Will do great for his confidence even if it was against Exeter.

Adam needs to keep it simple. He is going to piss off our players and our fans if he continues to opt for the Hollywood pass time after time. He was probably indulged that luxury at Blackpool but he won't be afforded that here.

Henderson didn't have much impact but I really liked his turn in the run up to the 'dive'. One or two nice deliveries in but I still want him to try impact the game more.

Pity Raul is injured, looked fairly innocuous too.

Onwards to Bolton, three points please.

I know the main purpose is just to grab a win, but I was a bit disappointed to see how we threw away chances and possession towards the end of the match. We could have scored 1 or 2 more goals when we hit them on the counter, but we chose to waste the chances instead.

I'd prefer us to maintain the tempo of the game, better passing among others. Maybe I'm just being greedy 😉

They missed Liam Sercombe last night.
Golbourne at full back is a waste, they should have moved Dunne into the middle and played Golbourne right mid.
With Nardiello and Bauza up front they're always going to struggle to score goals, they'll remain difficult to beat but won't score enough for a top half finish.
At first viewing Shephard does not seem up to the job of replacing Harley.

How much football do you watch Pesam ?
[/quote]

I only watch Liverpool games in the EPL but I watch every lower league game that's televised and go to about 25 lower league games per season - I'm completely addicted to it.
