From what I can see it is still 4 clubs that can win a double of one of the Big Leagues and CL this season. Us, City, Barca and Juve. It is no guarantee that anyone will do it, but being within a shout of that at this stage of the season definately make us one of the European powerhouses. The journey here from the last time we were in similar position has been rough, but the climb towards glory has been steep the last few seasons.
What do people here see as the main factors for us to put ourselves in this position? I know there are many people who has contributed but still it is interesting to see what you guys feel is the real key factors.
I believe keeping Anfield as the stadium and build on that legacy was important for us. It is our home and identity. Klopp has also done a tremendous job and his long term patience and passion for building something solid is also of course important. The backroom staff we have now looks extremelly competent even without the throw-in coach. We also seem to have found a good mixture of administrative leaders who seem to stay out of the limelight and still build a brand that is about football more than commercial (as opposit to both the Mancs, PSG and Real and more like Juve, Bayern, Barca even though I am aware the truth is allways more complex).
I hope the fundations we build now will be so solid that it will be hard for others walk in and disrupt them, like we have seen other places, in the future. But there are never guarantees for this.
