Ukraine lost 5 play-off ties in a row in WC/Euro qualifiers, including one to Slovenia in year 2000 (in a strange coincidence, the manager who knocked us out last time is once again in charge of Slovenia). That didn't help them and for Ukraine 6th time was finally the charm.
