22 games over 29 months, and over 250,000 kilometres travelled across the middle east, central asia, asia & central america.

Australia might not be one of the better teams at the world cup - but they've done more than any other country to get there.

They can't be worse than Sweden so fair play to the Soceroos

Agree mate, but must also add that this is one of the poorest Australian sides I've seen in a long time. Beyond 2 or 3 decent players, the talent drops way off. There will be 10-15 blokes in that squad that simply have no place being at a world cup.

Yep agree with you on that.

I'm not sure exactly what's happened since we won the Asia Cup - that was a good squad of players, not the greatest we've had, but decent squad that played well.

But since then it's been a downfall - a mixture of:

  1. Players making poor career moves - eg: Kruse, Sainsbury going to China, Troisi going to middle east etc.
  2. Changing from a back 4 to a back 3 has left us wide open at the back on the counter
  3. Younger players not really pushing on with their talent - eg: Luongo had a great Asia Cup and then went to QPR who had just been relegated ... dont even get me started on Brad Smith.

They‘re not?

Finland is a Nordic country but is not part of Scandinavia. For one thing, Finnish is entirely unrelated to any of the Scandinavian languages. The only other language related to Finnish is Hungarian.

The Finnish never committed enough rape and pillage to qualify as Scandinavians. From what I understand Finland mostly served as a battleground between Sweden and Russia for hundreds of years until they decided they had enough. They declared independence around the time the Bolsheviks took over in Russia. The Scandinavian flag design was chosen based on an art contest.
