That is a good point. Italy have to be seen as one of the favourites it if they do not have to many injuries

I'll hold off on anointing Italy as champions in waiting til they beat a decent team. But yeah they have been impressive so far

Pretty much the same as yours. I think Neuhaus would need time to settle in, but is already a good player and could become a very good one for us if things go well.

What part of Germany are you from? If I say "Ein jut jebrat'ner Jans ist des jütigen Jottes bester Jeschenk" you can probably tell where I once had a job!

Yes that is right. Especially, as he already has shown that he is a valuable player there are not so many downsides (compared to young talents which can always flop).

I was born in the mid of Germany (Ostwestfalen-Lippe) near Bielefeld and I am currently living in Munich. That is quite difficult - from the dialect it has to be from the rhineland (Cologne; Dusseldorf). So I would say that you worked in one of the two cities. 😉

And I just looked it up (it triggered me because I have heared it before): It is from a Berlin poet but many people associate it with Konrad Adenauer (first federal chancellor of Germany) who also was born in the Rhineland.

You're a dirty liar!

There is no city named Bielefeld as any fule kno.

Help please...anyone?

Lool..

Do you know when you won champ league final did you have to wear a suit or just same..

Same..trackies

It's annoying that when they try and change it up for a final and you get beat

I think he says ppl trying to blame it on what they wear n that..

But hendo laughing so can't hear that properly

Close. It was actually just down the road from Cologne in Bonn which, in those days, was still (and amazingly) the capital of what was West Germany, I imagine because of Herr Adenauer. I spent a year working in a bookshop there before going to university to study Modern and Medieval German and French. When my new Director of Studies heard where I'd spent the previous year, that quote was more or less the first thing he said. I never knew its origin until now, so thanks for that info. 😎

Has anyone mentioned the spurs link on heart attacks while on the telly.. Muamba, Eriksen, Hoddle

Nice to see you back mate.
After events last Saturday I think most of us are cheering on Denmark, even if it just a little bit.
And after his great leadership, I now regret mocking your desire for Liverpool to sign Kjaer.
🙂
Cheers mate... been reading on here on/off for a long while and then the YNWA prior to this game forced me back.. 😀

Kjaer has had a great season in Milan but I too thought he was ‘over it’ like.

Damsgaard has been talked about as a Michael Laudrup-talent by coaches in Denmark (they never make that comparison as it’s insane). Looks brilliant tonight at least.

Thx mate doing well hope you are (all of you) tool?

Yeah that’s pretty vital Eriksen is doing better.. you catched the YNWA as they walked in??

I'm fine, thanks. Most others seem to be OK too, going by the fact that this place is still a bearpit just as you remember it. :vamp:

I tuned in late so missed the YNWA but hope it helped Eriksen and all of you. Stick around now you're back, if you can.

Too bad Denmark couldn't get a result, the quality of De Bruyne and Lukaku was just too much. But huge respect to them for the way they approached the game and took it to Belgium in the first half and then fought back after going behind.

I have to say, in general I probably prefer Denmark's style of football over all other International teams; it's all so uncompromisingly collective-based and attacking even against stronger opponents. On the flip side, this also makes me wary of signing Danish players, because I think the style of play that's getting instilled in them from early age already maximizes their effectiveness and makes them look better than their actual individual level of talent. The best of both worlds would be taking players of actual top-tier talent and coaching them to play this kind of collective-based, fearlessly aggressive style of play – which pretty much describes Klopp's Liverpool.

Guess who's back...
You missed our giant fundraising campaign (the mods bought a house in the maldives) and the euro 2021 build up

I was thinking the same, and was praying they would equalize, I want to see more of them. But you just described them beautifully in your post..
