The more I watch of him the more evident it becomes that Kante is EXACTLY what we need.

I wouldn't mind him as our key Summer signing. He is even better than Masher ever was imo, much more balanced player overall and far better going forward.

France are starting to annoy me.

I just hate when the bigger sides/nation get late goals, don't know why.

It's only Albania, I wouldn't get too excited about France yet.

They're going to get ruined against a side anywhere near as talented as they are. Albania had tons of space when they went forward, and probably should've carved out a few better chances.

I was quite impressed by Albania's performance – they were surprisingly calm, obviously very well organized by their Italian coach and played with no fear whatsoever, whereas the French players were once again struggling to shake off the weight of expectations. In the end, their quality did tell and I think this French team has the potential to go very far once they get going.

On the individual side, I really liked Albania 22 y.o. RB from Napoli Elseid Hysaj. He was impeccable defensively and has a beautifully weighted cross on him too – if we didn't have Clyne I would seriously consider signing him; he looks quality. He has played LB in the past too, so maybe we could actually consider him as a versatile cover for both positions.

We don't need cover ... we need a starter ! Hector please.

Kante is better going forward, of course, but Masher has done what he does at world level for years, as captain of Argentina (at a young age) too. If I was picking one or the other in their prime to play a game at DM to save my life, it would be Masher every single time.

Maybe it's more of a type of defensive midfielder-matter. I've always rated a player like Makelele more than Masher when comparing both of them in their prime and Kante is way more the former in style.

I am so impressed by Kante both defensively and in the more attacking part of his game too, and though as you say, Kante is quite new at this stage compared to Masher I've seen enough of him to say that he could be a real dream signing for us - a vital cog in the wheel for years to come. Masher could be well erratic at times and I think for starters his passing game left a lot to be desired, maybe also why he's been used as a central defender in Barcelona more than in midfield as he's no where near Busquets in that area of the game.

Either way, I've always rated Masher highly and that's why I used him as benchmark as I think this lad is even better and a more complete footballer. I hope we go all in for him and make him our top priority this Summer.
