... and Mourinho

[article]Q: How do you feel about this World Cup which could well be your last one, and what is your future at Chelsea?

Eto’o: Thanks for informing me that it will be my last World Cup. Today, I am 33 years old. And it is not because a fool called me an old man that you must believe it. And you may have noticed that the old man was better than the youngsters.

Some believe I am going to retire in the United States or in the Middle East, but I have regained the joy of the Champions League and I am going to carry on playing in the Champions League. Where? I am not going to tell you. But I am going to carry on playing because physically and mentally I feel great.

So I am going to go to this World Cup and to the next one when I will be 37. Some did it at 42, so I can still play in two more World Cups. [/article]

He's gonna be our third choice striker.

Fuck me, I'd LOVE it if Eto actually was our 3rd choice striker.

Partly cos he's Eto, & partly cos, fuck me, we've got two better strikers than Eto keeping him out of the side.

This.

He was extremely lucky to score as many as he did this season. I would think it would be tough for him to score half as many if he played another year in the Premier League.

To be fair, he was playing for Chelsea/Mourinho, he could cut it in a different system.

Would be excellent backup for Sturridge.

What's his contract situation? Cos I can't see Chelsea selling to us.

He was on a one-year contract; out of contract now. Probably will go to a Turkish side playing in the CL I reckon.

Cheers.

If we could get him and Cole on free's I wouldn't complain. Wages and signing on fees etc might make it unlikely though.

Lucky is debatable. He scored a handful of goals in a team that doesn't exactly shit goals unless they're playing Arsenal. You'd imagine he'd get more chances playing for us. I'd definitely take him on a one year contract. If it doesn't work out, he's off after a year anyway. I'd rather buy Remy, but we won't have the money to buy everyone we need/want. He could be good cover for Suarez or Sturridge.

You make your own luck and E'to cut his teeth and built a successful career on goals. He will score wherever he goes. decent option but no thanx. Bring Borini back and reintergrate him. We should be looking at the future.
