Eriksen for €25M

By the way and I am only going to say this once (I hope) Eriksen was piss poor yesterday, I've never ever seen him in such poor shape before. Losing control of the ball numerous times, not capable of getting ANY set-pieces right, looked cumbersome etc. Oh and yeah he made a golden pass for the goal but that doesn't weigh up the overall feel on the night. Awful, Eriksen.

So that's that, now it's out there, hopefully never going to post something like that again..

He's clearly hitting a vein of form that could secure him a move to Utd

Didn’t see the game in question, but in general I’m surprised his free-kick goals have dried up. I thought he would get better and better at them with time, but it’s been years since his last goal from a direct FK, if I’m not mistaken.

That knocks 5m off his price tag

Todays rumour from Italy is a Rabiot + Money offer for him come January, putting Juve in the hot seat. Bayern have looked odds on lately mind.

Lol I know the perfect team for Rabiot.

And Juve can probably get Pogba to return too

Sarri doesn't really make use of him does he? Doesn't follow Serie A much these days.
Me neither, haven't really followed Serie A since we had it on TV3 here in Sweden.
Now I just catch a game here and there if there's nothing on.

You're basing this theory on what, exactly?

A combination of evidence.

His performance so far.
His lack of preparation for his move here.
His extremely poor integration into the squad off the field.
His injury record.
His mentality.

I may not see eye to sue with GKMacca on a lot of things but I put a lot weight behind his insights around the club and Wolands eye witness accounts of Kieta that you don’t see on TV.

For me all of that adds up to a player that will never reach the level we paid to get. He’s not a young lad we took a punt on. We paid a huge fee to have someone come in and dominate midfield. He’s a million miles away from that and as such will be shipped out quick smart imo.

I'm pretty sure we got a crystal clear explanation of his last pronouncement, that Alisson wouldn't play again this season, supported by facts, medical dossiers, and evidence from leading calf injury specialists. Didn't we?

Ha ha. That was reverse jinxy. Please god he’s back for Utd

I didn't realise Dreamy watched those kinds of videos.

[article]Lothar Matthaus has urged former side Bayern Munich to avoid Christian Eriksen as a free agent next summer because the Tottenham midfielder 'is too slow' to succeed in their side.

Eriksen has failed to agree to a new contract in north London and will be available to walk away from Tottenham for free next summer.

He is able to speak to teams outside of England as early as January to talk about pre-contract agreements but Matthaus is not sold on the playmaker and wants to see Bayern invest their time and money in other targets.

'If he is not enough for Tottenham, he is not good enough for Bayern,' Matthaus told Sport1. 'Uli Hoeness has also said that Bayern do not need substitutes.

'Eriksen is a fine technician, a typical No 10. But he's too slow, and Niko Kovac likes fast players.

'For me, Eriksen is not the kind of player who makes all the difference at the highest level, so concentrate on the transfer of (Bayer Leverkusen midfielder) Kai Havertz next summer, and you still have Philippe Coutinho, who plays well as a 10.'

The uncertainty surrounding his future has hampered Eriksen's levels of performance, particularly this season.

The Dane pushed for an exit in the summer with reported interest from Real Madrid, as Zinedine Zidane began his overhaul of the squad.

A move failed to materialise and Eriksen was left with no concrete offers.

He has spent six years in England and made no secret of his desire for a new challenge in the summer, putting pressure on Tottenham to cash in on one of their main assets.

Eriksen has featured in 11 games in all competitions so far this season but has struggled, registering just one goal and one assist with Tottenham slumped in ninth in the Premier League after eight games.

They take on rock-bottom Watford at home this weekend in desperate need of a win to arrest their poor run of form. [/article]

Is age and fatigue catching upto him or is he just not motivated enough to play for the Cocks? Coming close to 28 I think we should avoid him even if he is a freebie.

Remember when Torres quit on us...that's Eriksen now.

Not really a great move by him as he's nowhere near as desirable as Torres was. He should've continued playing to his best.
What a weird comment.

So he's been benched this Season, a lot, turned a few games around when subbed on but he has suffered from the uncertainty surrounding his future which is not that uncommon I guess. It has hurt his form too but it's hardly his own choice "no to play to his best". He's still the most vital player for Spurs, as every game without him has so evidently showed.

So to all the "experts" like Lothar and Carra and the posters on here jumping the bandwagon all queing up to tell everyone he's not good enough, you are having a fucking laugh.

Yeah, he is OBVIOUSLY not someone we should bother to sign especially now as he's been benched and struggling a bit for form.

Idk KHL, where does Erikson fit into this team? He isn't dynamic enough for the front 3 or defensively solid enough for the middle 3. He just may not fit into this squad despite his overall quality. Son on the otherhand would be perfect in any of the front 3 positions.

He rarely tackles but he's covering more ground than any midfielder in our current team at least when looked at historically over the past few seasons. Don't see any problems with this line-up at all;

...................................Fabinho..................Gini..............................
............................................Eriksen...............................................
Salah.........................................Firmino................................Mané

Anyways I didn't mean for this to be another me v 6CM Eriksen battle, I just find it extremely silly and rather stupid that people are now queing up to tell everyone who wants to listen that he's certainly not good enough, over the hill etc.

I have been a firm admirer of Eriksen, but I don't think he is what we should look at now. We need to find the ones delivering those numbers in the next 5 seasons, and not the past five seasons.

You got to hope yesterday is part of a run of bad form and not his new norm... because he refused to get close to Robertson or do anything of note defensively. He was bad.
