Eriksen for €25M

Acc to Marca Eriksen have turned down Spurs' latest and final contract offer and the club has now informed Real of his price tag in January, somewhere in the £20-25M region.

He has turned down United's approaches too and it is highly likely he's angling for that Madrid-move, however do you think Klopp should give him a hug and an offer he can't refuse? Wouldn't it be an exceptional signing at the rumoured price?
He'd turning down the contract extension so that he leaves on a free, surely?

Not quite. Him and his agent would get a shit load of money when signing for free, both in signing on fee and annual wages.
And you think he wouldn't now ? It's now different to the end of the season. The biggie is that he could help us to the title - not that more midfielders are what we really require though.

Wherever he ends up, I really hope it’s not United. A proper playmaker would make a huge difference to them .

He could improve us too. This season it has become especially obvious how important he is to Spurs system; they have a few great attackers but most of the time look toothless without him.

Not sure he would fit in in Klopp's current system, sure he is very intelligent midfielder but can't see him breaking that workmanlike midfield Klopp loves to employ. He's not going to guarantee you that insane amount of pressing that Klopp loves his midfield to have.

Why ? The motherfucker is of Viking blood, why does he need The Lying Rag...answer please @Insignificance and @Kay Age El

Interesting discussion really. I believe the current hype around us and Klopp make us a genuin competitor to the likes of Madrid. Madrid doesn't draw players on climate alone, they do have a history. Madrid is based in the middle of Spain and has a very hot/dry climate. It is no water so no luxury waterfront Resorts. I lived there as a student and going around this City as a pisshead is Nice for a year, but these guys can't do that. So if you look at clubs for climate reasons Lisbon, Barcelona, Valencia, Napoli and others is much more interesting for WAG's.

Studying in Madrid ? Really ... you are a lucky lucky man.

If Keita comes good as the 2nd midfielder. Does Erikson do the hard work to replace what Gini would do as the most attacking of the three?

So basically, if he wants to come and help us win the league as a part of the squad I'd be very happy to sign him. However, I don't think he'd be in the best 11 when everyone is fit. By that I mean, in the 10 biggest games of the year, the one where we tend to play Fab/Gini/Hendo if fit, he wouldn't make us better.

Keita will never be that good.

Mostly cause you're the CashOutSkeptic now.
Keita will make an impact.

I do believe I was the only one backing us to make back to back finals and that we’d win in Madrid long before anyone else thought so. Skeptic I am not.
I’m not a skeptic with Keita either he’s just never going to be someone who demands a place in our team. Squadie at best if we don’t off load him.

I'm not a skeptic, I'm just skeptical.

I'm glad I know that Klopp hasn't given up on that yet.

It seems nailed on that hes going to Madrid to replace Modric, but theoretically if he were an option the yes we absolutely should be trying to make it happen. Hes a level above any attacking mid we have and comparisons witn Ox are kind of ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure we got a crystal clear explanation of his last pronouncement, that Alisson wouldn't play again this season, supported by facts, medical dossiers, and evidence from leading calf injury specialists. Didn't we?
