Enough is enough

Ferguson's record suggests he wasn't a bad player actually!

There are quite a few good footballers that tried but never won anything as managers. That a handful actually has made it to that level of management can't be used as evidence that Carragher will do the same. That is ridiculous.

I'm not sure why you quoted that post and I'm not sure what your reply is actually trying to tell me.

I think its probably fair to say that there seems to be no correlation between how good/poor a player is and how good/poor a manager they might become.

True enough I guess, but I am pretty sure he has only one year left on his contract. I doubt he will get another one, so think it might be worth hanging onto him.

As I said before, Skrtel and Agger would be first choice, neither of them are exactly old, so buying another centre back who will want to be playing all the time won't really work. Agger is still pretty unreliable, so that is enough to give Coates enough matches next season, and then we have Carra available to fill in where required if necessary.

If it turns out that he is not getting games, or if another young player emerges and looks good then fine, its probably only for a year anyway. If we actively tried to sell him at the end of the season then chances are we would end up paying off a chunk of his wages anyway

You make a convincing case mate.

I don't know why, but i thought he had longer left on his contract than that.

Jamie has to be our fourth choice centre back from now on, loads of us have been saying it for months to the jeers of the "knowledgable" folk on here. Surely today highlights it more than ever, he gave them a goal, gave Jelavic a half chance at the end, and in general he just causes nervousness and indecision in our defence. Kenny is clearly letting the past and who he is affect him, as our too many people on this board, Agger and Skrtel, Coates and then Carragher from now on Kenny.

That was more Aggers fault IMO, didnt want to hit it with his swinger. Carra had no choice but to wait or risk ending up in a tangle of fragile Agger parts on the deck.

Yesterdays selection was stubborn from Dalglish but selecting Carra with all his experience and desire wasnt the shocking decision. Personally I would have selected Skagger as the centre back pairing and played enrique at LB but the really bad picks were Downing and Hendo when Bellers and Maxi have been playing so well.

I also read in the post commoli post mortem that listed all the transfer blunders that apparently Coates is consiered a flop by the press..... I reckon he will be pushing for a starting place next season and ive already seen flashes of his ability. Centre back wasnt the problem yesterday IMO it was pure and simply nerves and pressure preventing us from playing, we choked first half. Strangely Everton scoring, although it made for a fucking miserable half time pint, was the best thing that could have happened for us we came out fully aware that we had to fucking go for the cunts and we did. Reading the newspapers its hard to see reported that in fact in all the stress and pressure we actually deserved to win the game yesterday as we were without doubt the better team.

I want Chelsea in the final because Spurs have got the sign over us recently.

Insignificance, I would stop digging the hole any deaper old lad, and beat a tactical retreat

regards

Concider it done mate!! 😉 I have no very strong opinions on Carra... He deserve the respect he gets. I am just unsure what he has to offer footballwise in the future, but Ill leave that from here!
