I don't normally give a fuck about friendlys but with the world cup under a hundred days away and places to be fought for I'm really excited about tonight.
I'm hoping Joe Hart gets the gig in nets, but it'll probably be James, so
James
Warnock
Upson
Terry
Brown

Barry
Frank
Gerrard (c)
Milner

Rooney
Heskey.

Bit of a slow side without Lennon in it.

isn't it about time we fucked heskey off? rooney has proven he can lead the line on his own and gerrard is one of the best forwards in world football so why the fuck do we still need heskey?

That is one mediocre-looking side. Weird that there are so many Villa or ex-Villa players, but no room for Young and Agbonlahor.

I'll be watching France v Spain and praying for Torres not to get kicked.

Not that i give a shit but according to today's papers, Baines starts ahead of Warnock and Walcott instead of Milner.

And as someone has already said, how the fuck has Heskey all of a sudden become a starter for England?

Rooeny is more than capable of leading the line of his own which would allow England to use another midfielder - Joe Cole for example.

Torres to start on the bench.

I suppose Heskey is an option and will ruffle a few feathers (if he can be arsed) against certain teams. He shouldn't be a guaranteed starter though by any means, why should he? We need pace on the flanks and we need to accommodate Rooney, Lampard AND Gerrard, with Barry or another in behind.

Yup. With the likes of Defoe and Young as options.

england have played oin heskey in all but one WsC qualifier I believe. The one they didnt win he didnt play. That's if I heard the radio right this morning. If so then one could argue his worth to the team.

the team makes perfect sense and that's why come the world cup cappello wont pick it. why? because managers have to prove they are clever by NOT doing the obvious.

Back to normal.

*Phew*

Hahaha!

I went though the same emotions - well done Neil!

truth is I can see WHY capello has picked heskey, and to be fair to capello he has had success with heskey so he is going to go with what brought him success but if anyone is going to tell me heskey the obvious choice then I'll leave it there and you can all laugh amongst yourselves.

Not bad, but I'd have Milner on the right, a more intelligent footballer than Lennon, who's a bit hit and miss.

Yeah, but Lennon's FAST. Gerrard and Rooney are fairly quick, but the rest of that team is pretty slow. We need a bit of real pace somewhere in the attack.

gerrard is absolutely one of the best players playing as the second striker/in the hole position in world football. name 5 players who are better. kaka is a gimme.

Capello said in yesterdays' press conference that he will not use Gerrard in the second striker position. He will be employed as a midfielder who gets forward. So sorry Spidey, it will not happen. TRUFAX.
