Encouraging the Sturridge

Same reason he brought "semi-cunt" England captains into it. Players like Ferdinand, Gerrard and Terry. Three of the best and most successful players in recent history, and in Terry the most successful captain in Chelsea history.

ie he hasn't got a fucking clue what he's talking about, and simply spouts shit most of the time.
Terry isn't a cunt? wow.
I have no idea what I'm talking about says Mr Origi is a non scoring striker.

Personally I think mr noname is slowly turning into the Brendan again.

What? I didn't say anything about John Terry not being a cunt. I simply pointed out that he is (was) a brilliant captain for Chelsea.

I don't even understand what your reference to "semi-cunt" England captains was supposed to achieve anyway? A bit of controversy? Arguing your point? Comparing international and club captains? That Sturridge is a a"semi-cunt"? That Gerrard is?

That's why I questioned it, but you didn't have anything resembling a coherent answer, so I simply assumed you were spouting shit. Again.

Of course, you may be able to explain it, so here's your chance: go for it.

Soooo, this thread wandered a bit. Anyone think Klopp's fitness regimen will have "cured" Sturridge? We've seen no indication that he's had new flare ups and he's played the better part of the last few months.

Doubt it. Players who have a poor injury record during the early-mid part of their careers usually continue in a similar vein. Hopefully we won't see that recurring catalogue of thigh, hip, knee, hamstring happen again, but I still think he'll be a player who misses more games than the average footballer.

Not cured necessarily, Sturridges regular problems are probably inflammation related - therefore not curable just manageable to a degree.

But the approach was a very sensible one and it appears to be having the desired effect. Sturridge is never going to be a 50 game a season, 90 mins a game type, but with the right management of his fitness he can still be a huge asset.

Sounds about right. Let's see what happens after the summer with England, which may not be too bad given that Kane has displaced Sturridge as number 1. The extra training may do him good says my overly optimistic side.

The bench hopes you're right about that, Counsel, but has its doubts. That incompetent, hidebound old waster Hodgson was responsible for seriously derailing Sturridge the last time his fitness seemed to be on an even keel. Fingers tightly crossed on this one.

The bench is duly gratified but hastens to advise Counsel that that was a figurative expression rather than a reflection of its true position, which is in no way superstitious. That said, as an aside the bench was wryly amused to note that, when it experienced its first flare-up of arthritis about three months ago, the affected site was the middle finger of its right hand.

Exciting stuff happening at Liverpool, why would he want to leave?
Owen found himself in the almost the same situation and he went. No CL for him.
