I'm in - if there's room.

I thought it would be 3 seasons when Kenny took over but the only teams to have performed better than us since the day Kenny took over are the mancs (by 2 points) and the chavs (5 points). That's without Carroll and Stevie for large parts of the season and doesn't take into account the fact Kenny needed a couple of games to get into the teams head and switch them on.

If what we read is true and he's keen on making just one or perhaps two big signings then I'm sold. Under Kenny we've been doing exactly what I hoped Roy would do - take the shackles off and let the team play. I know there are plenty who hold to the adage that "we're shite" and "useless" but the reality is we've got some very good players in this team who can play teams off the park. It's hard to let go of what we've seen over the past 3 years but the last 4 months is the real Liverpool and the players have been standing up to show what they can actually do.

Would be very interesting to see what happens if Rafa does go to Chelsea. He'd be stunned to see this team playing that kind of football - and probably complain that Suarez is many times in the wrong place and that Raul can't be relied upon to keep his position.

Thats a good number building up.
Do the people saying you cant go from 6th to 1st not think that given we are where we are because of Roy added to the fact that Kenny has taken us from 18th to 6th in 3 months, not have the belief to go that one step further and just believe we will win the league?

We have Suarez and Carroll now. We have Meireles and Gerrard and Kuyt. We've got some great kids (how nice would it be to stop Fergie by winning it with kids?). We've got money to spend and work to do with the squad for sure. But this squad (or half of it) has us up to 6th, beating United and Chelsea along the way.

Fuck im tingling just thinking about it. Kenny has this mishmash playing great football, imagine in summer when its his team!!?

We cant lose man! Kenny and Stevie together its meant to be.

That's me, second from the right. Beside Neil.

The suggestion by some that we are currently a side that will chase Europa as a target, is quite disgusting. When the season starts it will be top 4 and the league as usual, not fucking Europa or top 6! Some people need to get a fucking grip, especially given the lightning-fast turnaround from the dark ages. I'm not saying we'll win the league (even with a good summer), as this is the most competitive league in the world by far now, it's an impossible call, what I will say is that I think if we avoid any major injuries and get a couple of players in that work (even if they don't excel) then we'll piss top 4 next year.

Next season we must qualify for Champions League football. If I hear any talk of targeting the Europa League I will shit down someone's throat. We will be targeting the league title (even if actually winning might be beyond our grasp) and settling for nothing less than top four.

Wow what a swing from the Brom game 2 weeks ago.

If we make top 4 next yr I'll be over the moon.

Title? You make a mockery of LFC fans.....

We are so far off a title challenge its embarrassing to talk about it.

I'm surprised at you Wizzy.

I'm in.

We've shown title-challenging form over the number of games since Kenny took the reins, despite Dalglish inheriting a side devoid of confidence across the board. He's had to contend with a number of injuries to key players (Gerrard, Carroll, Carra, Johnson, Kelly etc) and the Torres drama and yet he's got us playing with a swagger and confidence we've always thirsted for. We've got a summer of rebuilding to come, with the likelihood of a couple of quality players swelling the ranks and a smattering of young promising types to come in. We also have a number of ultra-promising young players chomping at the bit to make the step up, quite possibly the best young crop in the country (coached by quite possibly the best youth coach in Europe).

Like I said in another thread, a title challenge would be aided if we don't make the Europa league next season. I for one would be happy to forego the extra 20 games and countless midweek trips around Europe if it meant we had a fresher fitter squad to challenge for league honours. Play the kids in the carling Cup and have a right go at domestic competition and win the league/FA cup double.

Come the fuck on.

Speaking of Mount Doom, cheer the fuck
up Pat. We're playing with renewed vigour and freedom under Kenny that was unseen under Rafa and Hodgson. considering our injury list as well it's been no mean feat. Never mind fucking Mourinho and his recent home record cos Kenny hasn't lost a home game since 1989 ;-). I believe in big things happening in the summer. I believe in Kenny. I believe in our owners. I believe we'll be as good as anyone next year. I believe we've developed the best academy in the country, with great thanks to Rafa. The kids in the academy can also now believe they will get a chance under Kenny. Its a New dawn for Liverpool which is full of hope and belief. If you have no hope in your mind you may as well give up football. So stick the negativity right up your room of requirement

tee hee, I know 😉

Ok, well, remember this moment when you get hammered, down the road.

I'm not saying the "Army" is right, just that there's quite a few of them and you've got your work cut out, so don't start crying *when* the shit gets real.
to be honest I only messing and couldn't resist. if people want to believe we can go from 6th to first in one season then more power to them, personally I'm looking for a more realistic jump of two league places. 7th hopefully to 5th (this year) and 5th hopefully to top 3 (next year). both targets are achieveable.
I see no reason why we can't challenge, I think it'll be difficult, but if we continue our current form and sign the right players, there's no reason why we can't. I don't see much to shout about in the teams above us, despite all the money spent, the only thing there is United's experience.

Exactly Fal.

I was wavering until a moment ago - I was going to say something about how it all depends which players we sign this summer, and how big our rivals spend etc - but as soon as I saw Dreambeliever's post, I just knew: I'm in.

If he thinks we definitely can't do it, we definitely can.

We mock ourselves by not believing we're not good enough for top 3

I mean it's not like we've beat city, chelsea or united under this manager

Pity him and his closet Mancunt Wankstain-ness.

Maybe he worded it badly but I'd be leaning closer to DB's view. It is highly unlikely we can challenge for the title unless we add 4 really quality players to the 1st team. This would involve spending huge amounts and I think it's unlikely we'd have enough cash. That said with Kenny, Suarez, Gerrard and Carroll I think we'll have enough to get top four next season.

Dalglish will get us back to where we need to be. I'm sure of it.

If we're competing for the league next season then it would be a remarkable turn around.

Based on a purely emotional responce to seeing Kenny in charge it is impossible not to think that we really do have a chance of being champions again, if not next season then very, very soon. It just sees to feel right that our return to the top will happen this way. Romance in football is still alive.

However looking at it logically it doesn't particularly paint a different picture. Since Kenny took over only Man U (2 points) and Chelsea (5 points) have out performed us while most of the time we were playing without our talimatic player, as well as having many of our key players regularly injured. If Kenny's were in charge for the entire season, based on his points per game total we would now be running in second with a real shot at the title.

So next season, based on a few assumption that Kenny is in charge we have a fit a raring to go captain and have added two or three new first team players, would logic suggest that we have a chance of being champions .............................

Feckin sure it would

Exactly.

I don't know why he bothers.

We must be such a dissapointment to him and his obvious ambition.

I think people are forgetting our away record which is a best erratic and at worst a disgrace, suddenly this is going to change to the point where we are a few points off the leaders going into April. I think with a massive overhaul of the squad and 2-3 first team players we'll drastically improve our away but not to the point we'll win the league.

United are more than likely going to win the league with the worst away record in Premiership history.

And obviously Roy was a huge factor in our poor away form this season.
