I think that you got the answer to why Ayre is against getting in a DoF. He would get less influence and he don't want to lose any power. He will defend Rodgers all the way. If Rodgers get sacked then we can be very sure that Ayre will get in a manager that won't cause him any problems. He won't give a shit what is best for the club. His personal interest will always come first.
