Milan Jovanovic has told Anderlecht team-mate Matias Suarez to not consider moving to Liverpool.
A host of clubs are tracking Argentine forward Suarez, who is currently one of the stars of the Belgian league.
The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool are amongst the sides being linked with Suarez, but he has been told to forget about Anfield.
"I shed lots of tears in England. I felt unhappy every day over there," said Jovanovic.
"London is a nice place to live but everywhere else is depressing. I have advised Suarez not to move to Liverpool.
"They'll throw a lot of money at him but he should opt for Italy."

i liked jovanaovic, i pissed myself when he did that interview when he referred to himself as 'the lonely stranger' though

All I heard was 'I'm too shit to play football in England and it pisses me off'.

LIverpool's ok but it's no Srebenica.

Srebenica is Bosnia.Serbia's capital is Belgrade which was a real scene from hell the last time I was there-maybe it is now the Paris of the south.Belgium is alright but hardly paradise.Poor Milan is a twat.

Average player though Jovanovic may have been, he didn't get a fair shake here IMO. Against the Arse in his first game he was excellent - played up front, bullied their whole defence and came off to a standing ovation. After that he was continually stuck out on the left wing and sank without trace. It isn't as if we were snowed under with top class striking options at the time.

I was on about what the Serbs did there when on tour. I imagine he'd have shed a few more tears there than for being paid fuckloads for being wank in our town.

Belgrade is still a dump, but Novi Sad, just up the road, is beautiful.

We're a sleeping giant blaa blaa blaa we will attract big names to our club regardless of nuggets like him

It doesn't dismiss the fact that top managers attract top players though.
Did we have any real competition for Suarez?

Haven't a clue. What difference does it make? He's a top player, and the fact that he came here at Kenny's behest is enough to disprove your rather sly attempt to suggest that Kenny can't attract such talent to the club.

They say that the transfer was done before Kenny joined.

As someone else said, as long as we keep paying high wages (and promise a plan of sorts) we'll be able to attract good players. We just need to start identifying them.

Oh do change the record Ryan you tedious fucking beaut. I'm surprised you can drag yourself away from the mirror long enough to make a post you self absorbed whopper.

You gonna ban yourself for a day after that unprovoked rant?

You know the rules, you fuckibg wrote them. See you in a couple of days.

agreed, thought he looked half decent up front whenever he got the chance, which was very rarely. i remember his first game for us, he grabbed a defenders bollocks and after he got subbed put his feet up on the back of hodgsons chair, legend

Excellent - glad we've given in on those boring "attack the post, not the poster" rules.

Now let's get Brendan back to scare off all the newbies.

No, I'm not. You should report me. In between brushing your eyebrows.

Right so, we need a top manager who can attract players, like Roy Hodgson?

I don't really buy that players will only sign if they happen to like the manager. If Alex Ferguson or Jose Mourinho went to manage Grimsby I doubt that Lionel Messi would be banging on the door demanding to sign for them.

Its one of those myths that you often hear. The same as players all apparently leaving when a manager leaves. In practice it doesn't tend to happen does it?
