Just had a wee search and Gustavo Assed is president of Botofogo Ribeirão Preto, who are looking to gain promotion TO the fourth division.

😵

I'm starting to think that maybe we're not signing Neymar this window.

Ah well, the summer it is then.
I've been told reliably by Niall K that neymar is currently in zidanes house on the wirral. Paperwork should go through, all ducks in a row etc etc

Loved that interview with the young lad Everton signed.

Yeah, I wanted to come to Everton cos they're a top club, & there's loads of great players I can learn from, like....er, well, great players.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Zidane came home and caught him banging his missus. It's all up in the air again

He is retiring due to heart troubles which were caught during routine testing last summer

Premier League LIVERPOOL GIFTS - The last day of the market has not only got shots of the market, but also the story of a tragedy touched, such as gifts , former goalkeeper of Rome, which he terminated the contract with Liverpool to return to Brazil and withdraw. As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport , the Brazilian goalkeeper was forced to hang up his boots for serious health problems: July 3, 2012 risked death of a heart attack during an examination by the medical staff of the Reds ; after 30 seconds of terror recovered, but the problems had already been highlighted by Rome, which had recorded an arrhythmia during the experience of the Brazilian in red and yellow. The problem has not prevented Doni being considered suitable for the athletic activities, but after the heart attack Muamba and the death ofMorosini controls by English clubs have become more extensive and evidently something did not work, because gifts flew in Italy, in particular Monzino Hospital of Milan, to undergo a series of tests that gave a sad verdict situation under control, but athletic activities recommended. "regret the games and the atmosphere of the stadiums, but to live and be together with the family is more important. thank Liverpool did extremely well , "the comment and the greeting of Doni.

Good to know the medical check-ups have become more rigorous about such things (although if Roma had already spotted the arrhythmia one wonders why we pursued him in the first place).

It was because of his dodgy ticker people were calling him a cunt!

No one on here has met the man and can vouch for his character, and he's done nothing cuntworthy on the pitch, so therefore its unfair to call him a cunt!
Relax pal!
I agree with you.
I was only taking the piss

It seems an eternity ago when the likes of Asa Hartford was running around with a hole in his heart, Jimmy Case was losing his hearing in one ear, Alan Hansen's knees were practically falling off and Gary Mabbutt was injecting himself with insulin at half time. It was more like an episode of Casualty than footie at times.

This also explains why nothing at all was forthcoming from the club .... I actually think this has been handled very diplomatically, and empathetically, by all concerned.

Good luck Doni, hope you have a long an happy life ahead.

each to their own but personally this isn't something i would imagine has to be kept too quiet , he'd get nothing but sympathy and support .

plus surely we can't just keep this quiet so he can find another club, i'd imagine that's illegal never mind immoral .

and if he retires from professional level i am sure both he and us have insurance cover ,

but anyway best of luck to him .

People might kick off as you how he passed the medical. It shows ineptitude (again) of our medical team.

Ffs we should just go to broadgreen like Everton do. They have players who actually FAIL medicals

While it was a bit off for people to have a pop at Doni, the statement he released gave the impression that there was some friction between him and the club. This no doubt fuelled the view he or the club had acted inappropriatelymin some way.

Anyway, good luck to the fella and hope he stays fit and healthy.

From the Telegraph:

The 33-year-old Brazilian, whose last match for the Reds came on the final day of the 2011-12 season, has not featured in any squad since.
Liverpool, who refused to comment on Doni's revelation, said it was for personal reasons but, after securing a deadline-day move back to his homeland to join Botafogo, the goalkeeper has explained the circumstances, which began while he was undergoing medical tests at the club.
"I almost... I almost ended up on the other side. I had a heart attack for about 25 seconds," the former Roma player told calciomercato.com in Italy.
"I've been to one of the best doctors in Europe who looked at me carefully. He's asked me to stop for a few months.
"Now I have to stay put until April, then I can return to the field, I want to play in the 2014 Paulista championship."
Doni also told Brazilian broadcaster Globo: "I always had an arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) and during some tests in Liverpool suffered a cardiac arrest.
"I carried out checks across Europe and I had to extend my period of absence from the field."
