Alex McLeish?! NO, it cannot be true...
Ha ha. Be careful what you wish for huh?
Quite. I wonder how all those calling so fervently for Rafa's head now would feel if McLeish was his replacement.

In all honesty, I would favour replacing him with McLeish than not replacing him at all.

I just wiki'd McLeish because I thought maybe I was being snobbish and unfair. Perhaps there was something in his record as manager that I was missing. But... I don't see it. He won the Scottish league twice in five seasons with Rangers (which effectively means he lost to Celtic 3-2), was relegated in his first seasons with Hibs and Birmingham, and got them back up straight away; he had a sort of near-glorious failure with the national side, and has now established Birmingham (for ONE season) as a decent midtable side. As far as I can see, he's never handled any star players, nor does he have any real experience in Europe. How does any of that make him better than, say, Curbishley or Allardyce or Redknapp or any other average British manager?
