That last sentence reminded me of one of the strangest people I've ever met in my life.
While waiting for my flight at Stansted Airport, this guy sitting opposite to me starts talking to me.
I think he was from Brighton or Southampton, don't really remember. He was listening to music while scribbling in his notebook.
Suddenly he looks up and asks me if I knew the name of the film in which Mel Gibson portrays a suicidal cop. So I go:
- Lethal weapon, why do you want to know?
- I'm thinking about killing myself. I'm writing a pro and cons list.
So I start with the "it's not worth it" speech etc. and he starts telling me his life story (parents, upbringing, money etc)
Anyway....
He goes on to tell me that he used to be gay.
So I say:
- what do you mean used to be?
- Well I was teased and bullied in school to the point that I started believing that I was gay.
- Really?
- Yeah, I had a 2 year relationship with a guy that ended a couple of years ago.
- What happened?
- Well I was in New York, and I met this girl and we shared something bla bla bla ( I don't really remember what he said but he made it sound like a fairytale)...and that's when it hit me that
I WASN'T GAY.
(LONG PAUSE)
- Oh, good for you.
My younger brother who was sitting behind eavesdropping goes (in Swedish):
- So this guy sucked dick for two years before he realised that he wasn't gay?
