Oh do fuck off with all that shit. He’s a 20 year old lad playing centre mid for Liverpool having recently had Covid. It’s been a stop / start season for him and he’s struggling for a bit of form and consistency. It’s normal.

Kids develop at different ages and there’s no expectation of a linear development, especially in centre mid for a massive club. What are you going to say when Elliott has a dip in form at some point?

That was an awesome return. Not just the goal, which was sumptuous, but all of his play. Our 1st choice midfield (injuries permitting) should be Fabs, Thiago and Elliott. We'd never lose another game.

I remember reading an interview with one of the coaches at Blackburn. The coach was asked what is the most impressive aspect of Harvey. I am paraphrasing from memory. The coach replied, more than anything, Harvey's understanding of the game. He had never seen a youngster with so much intuition about the game. He said ask Harvey to play any position, give him basic instructions and he gets it. Always takes the right decisions wherever he is on the pitch.

We could see that yesterday. Harvey comes on and immediately the midfield goes up a whole new level.

I said in the match thread you could see Mo and Trent trusting him with the ball. I just love how he wants to get the ball forward. It’s his first thought. Pass or drive, it doesn’t matter which because he can do both.
