I quite like Dempsey. I'd be happy enough if we got him as a direct replacement for Yossi - at a similar price. It's hardly top priority at the moment though, given that we have no left-backs at all and only one striker.
I like him. If a deal could be done at a good price, I'd be happy to have him in the squad.
I would expect Fulham to expect a fee in the region of ten million bangers, so on that note i dont expect to see him here. For no more than 3 million then i would be tempted.

As an American, it would be kind of cool to have an American outfield player, as a Liverpool supporter not so much.
It would feel like the quantity over quality signings we have had so much of the past few years.

Well, we're certainly not going to do it by buying galacticos, because we simply don't have the money. We're going to have to do it the way most teams do, by buying and developing good players and making them better. It's a matter of opinion whether Dempsey is good enough to be a Liverpool player in those circumstances - I think he is, but some posters whom I like and whose opinion I respect take a different view. One thing's for sure though - we're not going to be able to afford the kind of player whom everybody rates, not yet awhile.

Dempsey scored a couple Luis Garcia-esque goals last year; the timely, out of nowhere, sort of spectacular variety. Goal return in the league the past three seasons has been about 1 in 4. I'm of the opinion that he'd be a fine option to have, and a safe signing (not injured, won't have to adjust to the league), but at the same time, he's not a first XI player for a team with title ambitions (I like to think Liverpool has title ambitions).
Those who get disappointed we did not get to sign Dempsey should remember this thread.
Tbh I think it was more a disappointment we did not actually sign anyone, rather than Dempsey..
