Degen loan move

Liverpool have agreed a deal to loan defender Philipp Degen to VfB Stuttgart.

The 27-year-old will sign a contract with Die Roten next week, which will seal his return to the Bundesliga following his move from Borussia Dortmund in summer 2008.

Degen's failed two-year stint at Anfield has been restricted heavily by injuries which limited the Swiss international to just 13 senior appearances.

Reports in Gernany indicate that Stuttgart have the option of making the right-back's move permanent at the end of the 2010/11 campaign.

If he had been less injury prone he wouldn't have been an awful back up. When he has played he hasn't been that woeful.

Sadly as it stands he's no use at all and I'd be surprised that anyone wants to pay him to sit in their treatment room.

His attacking play looked neat at times (though not when he was pushed forward into midfield). His defending WAS awful any time it was put to the test, but in the Bundesliga it won't be tested as much.

They aren´t...for obvious reasons (they are signing Degen).
