I've just printed off a picture of Poulson and I'm taking it to the jaks so I can wipe my arse with it.

It's Poulsen not Poulson.

1 - 1 😉

Cheik Tioté - 3.5m

Poulsen cost 1m more, is 6 yrs older and has no energy, pace or re-sale value

i'm sure he was a good player at one stage but what was Roy playing at?

Sorted.

Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko has vented his frustration at his club and indicated he would like to move on, with England a possible destination.

A move back to the Barclays Premier League would, most likely, be with Aston Villa and the 25-year-old would relish the chance to end his Serie A hell.

Luigi Del Neri has made it clear Sissoko is a reserve player or back up to Felipe Melo, which was not something Sissoko signed up for when he left former club Liverpool.

And former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier is an admirer of the Malian and is keen to bring his experience to Villa Park as he attempts to get Aston Villa out of their current slump.

Signed for Liverpool for £5 million in 2005, the Anfield club doubled their money three years later when they offloaded him to Juve.

His Liverpool career was dogged with injuries, although he holds the distinction of being the player that scored Liverpool’s 7000th league goal, and he would love to show the English fans what he can really do.

“You never know what you have. If you want to be sold, it will be on their terms,†Sissoko told Football365.fr.

“The directors wanted to sell me at the beginning of the year and sometimes they try to enter into agreements that I do not like.

“When competition is healthy, I do not have problems. But it is no longer the case.

†Del Neri will only pay attention to me when he needs me. Otherwise it is calculated. I do not want controversy, but I’m not a (commercial) good.

“If someone has disrespected, these are the leaders of Juve to me and vice versa. Accident? They know that they made a mistake with me and now they invent that I did not play against with Napoli because I refused to do so.

“But that is completely false. I did not play is because I have inflammation of the quadriceps and did not want to risk hurting myself.

“One day I’m sold, the next day I’m not. Melo gets three-match ban and I am no longeron the market.â€

It would be weird for me to complain about the creativity in our midfield and at the same time support a purchase of Sissoko, a player which I like.
But if there's no one else I'd definitely start re-assembling the "BEST MIDFIELD IN THE WORLD"

what about him or melo as part of the aquilani deal? although we'd probably get ripped off again by juventus, ie they'd be absolutely shite

I would take him in a heartbeat. Don't get me wrong, he is an awful footballer who can't pass, shoot, dribble, control the ball, but he would an enormous step up from Lucas and Poulsen.

I'm joining this late but in response to the original post, Alonso would massively improve our team right now - his loss has not been mitigated at all. The loss of Mascherano as well has just added insult to injury. Our midfield is destitute. And while Ming is a tidy player (last night aside), he's simply not in the same class. Oh, how I miss Alonso.

You shouldn't; if he gets too close to your balls he's going to pass it to the opposition.

Mark Van Bommel is been linked with City today and is supposedly free to leave Bayern can't see City signing another midfielder though, maybe worth a shout as a quick fix to add a bit of bite to the midfield.

Get Lass Diara or Defour in.

[/quote]

Both would be ideal.

By that I mean either of them would be ideal. Both would leave us very overcrowded in the centre with Merieles and Stevie aswell..

Stevie plays further forward if poss anyway, if we got both in we could fuck off Poulsen and Lucas without a seconds thought.

He does look a good player, but my preference would be for Lassana Diarra - needs to move, so may be more reasonably priced, and knows the Prem already.

Lass is on 90k or so, M'Vila would be a much cheaper and younger alternative.

I like Lass aswell though, and would be pleased if we move for him.

M'Vila is an excellent prospect available at a reasonable fee/wages in all likelihood.

He's got to be the number one target.

He'd be my number 1 choice but I'm not sure he'd be quite as 'affordable' as you think. He may be young but he's a full international, and very highly rated indeed.

I'm thinking about 15m or so. He'll be worth double in that in a couple of years.

RBFlemma Adresseavisen reports #Rosenborg are holding out for approx £2 mill. from #Sevilla for #Annan. Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo offering half

2 mill quid!

He plays for Ghana, yes. But he's nowhere near their best central midfielder (Asamoah of Udinese).

I'd love us to be for Asamoah.
