Just read a stat, top 3 players with defensive errors leading to a goal this season are:

Mignolet (5)
Emre Can (5)
Gareth Barry (5)

I am a big fan of Emre Can but this is alarming as well as crazy that we have 2/3 worst offenders for this.

I don't know what defines defensive error exactly in the study but regardless something needs to change.

I think you're last paragraph tells you that you probably need to work out what that definition means before deciding whether anything needs changing. Other than the obvious candidate.
