I'm sure you know what your doing and everything with the rebuild of the squad... Some nice signings to boot... Thanks YNWA..

However can we sign a fiing Striker please... the suspense is killing me... My wife is barely talking to me as I'm spending too much time refreshing Twitter in the hope of a striker signing announcement..

His experiments using Peterson in that role speak for themselves. As does the fact Sturridge sneezed or something and was on the first plane back home to see a doctor. The signs are saying there's no signing.

The season start in less than two weeks. We're missing a top quality signing. It took us several weeks to finalise the deals we've made. Teams are now finishing their pre season and depending on the squads at hand.

We might just sign a striker, its not impossible, but they know that we're desperate now. Remy wasn't the solution and neither is Bony imo.
 
Yeah we're not signing a marquee player I don't think.

Interestingly, Ian Ayre was out in town last night pissed as a fart. Could mean nothing of course, but he wasn't off somewhere trying to finalise a deal.
 
At the start of the window I was happy we missed Sanchez as we could and should do better than him. Then we were about to buy Remy and I felt like an idiot about Sanchez. Now we're signing nobody I feel like an idiot about not wanting Remy.

It's like when you're in a club and pass up what's on offer. Then you end up with nothing and have to carry a bladdered Ian Ayre back home. Fuck me.
 
If, IF, we're signing a top, top player then it will be on silly wages.

That means that we'll want to do it late on to save an extra million on salary.
 
Agree with both of you, but I doubt the bean counters would, & if Rodgers wants to sign players he has to listen to them.
 
I think our options are limited on the striker front. I think he'll want someone premier league proven, e.g a bony, remy, rodriquez, balotelli etc

A 4 year deal is a 4 year deal.. you might delay the first month's pay but you would still be liable for the next 47!

Well, I'm not quite sure all this equates to us being 'fucked', mate.

Like you, I still hope we sign a forward. Remy was perfect for what we need - a decent back up striker, willing to play second fiddle and for fuck all outlay. Disappointed to miss out on him. Reus will cheer me up when he signs, though.
 
Bony and Firmino would cost about £45m. We would recoup money from the sale of Agger, Borini and Assaidi, which should be around £25-35m
