It's not a matter of lying, it's not uncommon for a manager to bluff the media and the market.

I'm not saying we are signing anyone or even looking too but to dismiss it completely purely because the manager says so is a bit naive. IF we do sign someone the very same people will be telling us how it was the perfect smoke screen and how awesome he is at playing the media and the fans etc.

I read that Man City were in talks for a deal with Roma for David Pizarro.

A quality player - the best playmaker in Serie A at the moment ... surprising link given the rumours for the past few months have been involving De Rossi.

For City any one of Pizarro or De Rossi would be a good signing.

It depends what they are looking for...

A combative midfielder who has physicality, power and an Essien-like game ... go with De Rossi.

Or a diminutive deep-lying playmaker with great dribbling and technical skills ... Pizzaro.
