Tracey Beakers all grown up.

Don't care how he dresses, wish that we would have signed him instead of Solanke
The coaches that recommended solanke to Klopp instead of DCL should fired

Ancelotti saw something in Calvert-Lewin and made the absolute best of him while he was there. I suspect his career will start to fall away now that Ancelotti's gone.

Richarlison has ability but, aside from being a cnut of the highest order, is as flaky as an autumn leaf in a high wind, a poor man's Mane.

It was a perfectly sensible view to take at the time. Solanke won the youth Euros and the Junior World Cup with England, and Chelsea fans were up in arms that they let him go.

.. and we didn’t do bad out of a deal for a player that arguably has found his level.

Largely agree. The only thing I would add is that I wouldn't yet write off Solanke's chances of becoming a useful Prem player if they get back up again under Parker.

Did not both Solanke and DCL play for the the England sides that won the Euros and the Junior World Cup..?
Beside DCL always struck me as a better player. And was cheaper too

I'd forgotten that Calvert-Lewin played as well. The reason I'd forgotten is that it was Solanke who got the lion's share of the goals. I respect the fact that Calvert-Lewin struck you as the better player, but I got the mirror opposite impression. As for "cheaper", I thought we signed Solanke on a free.

Solanke was levels above everyone else in that tournament and won the golden boot (from memory) scoring goals from all over the place. It looked like a great signing at the time and his pre season was ace, he just didn't step up at the time. Twenty million profit wasn't bad though

I think we paid some kind of compensation. It is hard to say that Calvert-Lewin would have been cheaper, given that he was already at Everton by the time we signed Solanke and by the time of the England youth tournament.

This is not me agruing any points with you, but I read that a tribunal-set fee of around £3 million that Liverpool had to pay for Solanke, double what Everton paid for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Still I respect the fact that you rate Solanke over Lewin. After all we eac h see different things in different players...

It's all good 🙂
