redcafe in metldown, people either saying its a terrible decision or going delusinal trying to console themselves, ive seen 'world class manager' and 'sensational apointment' throw about a bit. gold

this is their hodgson moment.

I think he'll do a cracking job.
Hes got the best squad in England and has proved with a shit squad he can perform miracles.

id love it if they start playing shit football and losing then they start protesting about moyes and the media crucify the fans

Can't happen. He will set the team up to play in the Man Utd tradition and will continue to record victory after glorious victory.

As for protests and crucifying Managers this is not in the genes of Manc fans they are far too dignified.

I'm having trouble recalling Moyes's miracles.

I also think Citeh have a better squad.

He'll do OK with a well run club with plenty of resources but the competitions fierce and he'll be under enormous pressure.

And what do you think those stats mean?

They mean in 11 years he's never managed to beat a top side away from home. He only knows one style of football and he has never won anything. But he's still regarded as a brilliant manager who has had incredible success. He's spent 7th most amount of money in the league and on average finished 7th. It's a massive gamble to give him a 6 year contract. But at least now we will get to see if he is actually any good. I for one doubt it. But then I think our manager will prove to be extremely average too. As always, we will see.

Absolutly. But the pressure now cant be compared from the Everton job. He's never won anything and when they've been close they fucked up.
FA cup, CL qual etc etc.

Cracking job or fuck up, it could tip either way imho

Oh, and dont underestimate the Fergie effect in a lot of Utds success. He's played a major part, that will be sorley missed. And they'll find that out soon enough.

He'll get lots of love from fans and media as he's Fergie's personal pick.

Lets hope he calls into question Fergie's judgment.

What does 70,000 prawn sandwiches sound like being thrown to the floor in disgust?

Don't think he will be a failure but doubt he will be a major success. Don't forget its not just Moyes and Man Utd. Gotta consider how the other teams likes Chelsea, Arsenal etc strengthen. Then, there's also the other giants in Europe. What are the chances of them winning another CL under Moyes, for example?

With the players and money at his disposal they will always be there or there abouts, but he's not in Ferguson's league. Thank fuck.

Top managers get paid to add that bit extra when the chips are down and they HAVE to make a difference. Moyes has never done this. Any time Everton got close to achieving anything he failed. I hope that continues.
