Darwin Nunez

This seems to have a lot of legs.

Im worried about his poor linkup and dodgy knee and its a huge, record price. He does seem to suit a counterattacking side more than our setup.

Flipside is he's young, driven and has improved a lot and passing and keeping possession better isnt so difficult to pick up. He'll bulk up more for sure and can improve in the air, which could be another string to his bow and a novel weapon for us. Already intelligent with good movement, which is harder to teach.

I could see him going left and Diaz coming inside. Wonder if he could learn to run the right channel more too.
Benfica play with near enough equal possession to ourselves, so I'm not sure that that really applies. He's just against weaker defenders and shit goal keepers. He seems to have enough tools to play against the low block.

The new Torres? The new Andy Carrol? A mixture of the two?
I think we're somewhere in the middle.

Torres was more proven than Nunez is now, and Klopp and the team simply couldn't make a deal as bad as Carroll given the setup and diligence in place.

Ideally we’d pull an Eden Hazard level deal out of our arses for Mane then this would seem like a great deal but that doesn’t seem to be on.

His hold up play and link up seem to be weaknesses. Those are vital in the PL where you cant throw away possession. If he was struggling to do that effectively in a lesser league, it might be a red flag considering the fee.

The holding part of the hold up play is fine – he is strong and can protect the ball. His lay-offs could be sharper and more precise though – good news it's very much coachable. Sometimes he takes a step towards the player he is about to pass the ball to and only then passes, creating an unnecessary delay and telegraphing the pass – Bobby and Thiago need to teach him about crisp no-look passing!

More good news is that unlike Bobby Nunez has the ability to instantly turn and run past his marker into space after laying the ball off – effectively adding an extra player to the attack. He can become lethal if his passing improves.

Ok, in my head he's from Uruguay.
So he's gonna be like Suarez.

Which'll be amazing, imagine the tenacity, sheer willpower and hunger he'll bring to the side. alongside Dias..
Like two South American street ballers going at it.

On the other hand, can we clarify ASAP!!
And I means ASAFP
That the N word is bad.
Like really bad, don't say it, dont mutter it..
Don't post it...
Just steer week clear

We can't say Nunez? Come on.. Antonio wasn't that bad.

In 2004, we are forced to sell our star attacker, we sign a Nunez. One year later, we lift big ears in Istanbul.

2022, we sell our star attacker after he pushes for a move to Bayern. We are in the process of signing a Nunez. Where is the next CL final?

If Darwin turns out to be shit, I want royalties for anyone using the phrase “the origin of faeces”.

Lol

Wasn't hazard 28 when they bought him? Pre covid 28 year old Mane would have defo fetched 100m.
