Curtis Jones - Under Rated?

I would rather we didn't sell Jones now. We have a long season ahead, he is a young guy, he clearly has ability and I think he could play a part.

On top of that, I wouldn't even be that confident that we would buy a replacement in the next few days if we did sell him.

This is not a huge amount of money and if he does crash and burn this year then I would imagine we could still cash in on him next summer.

If we weren't already 'just OK' for midfielders I guess we could consider it (but £20-25m seems low)

I just don't think he's "that" good
Maybe not but considering we won’t get in a replacement it would be silly to sell him this late when he’s more then capable of not just playing but fulfilling an important role for us this season.

I thought it was universally accepted that he was a great prospect. You've seen Elliott play twice and all fallen for him and forgot how good Jones was you filthy sluts.

Oh that header against West Brom that gave a fucking corner away. I'd say not defending corners well was the bigger problem. See: Yesterday

Sell Curtis .... seriously ?what cunt wants to do that ? This is pretty bad if we have to sell him. Fuck FSG

It its Villa that want Curtis its because they realize he is the closest thing to Grealish in this league. I would sell Keita for 15-20M than let Curtis go. Klopp seems to be so stubborn when it comes to these midfield players, so tired of these work worse types when we need fucking ballers to break opposition down.

The thing that makes Jones vulnerable to being sold is that we didn't have to pay anything for him. If Keita or Oxlade Chamberlain were sold off on the cheap then questions would be asked about how much money we lost on them which wouldn't be the case with Jones.
Personally whilst I'm not blown away by Jones's contribution so far it would be crazy to sell him for such a low amount or even at all when he's still so young and I'd rather he was told to take more chances when he plays and express himself more as his naturally offensive style has slowed right down over the last year.
I don't know if he's been told to be more conservative in his passing and attacking runs by the coaching staff or he himself feels like that style would earn him more starts but whatever it is he just doesn't seem like a goal threat anymore. And also fuck Villa who the fuck do they think they are.

It's strange that after about 60 minutes of the game against Chelsea our most likely route to a goal was going to be a long range strike as they were defending deep and we weren't getting into good enough positions out wide to hurt them from the flanks. Keita and Chamberlain are on the bench, one of whom can dribble well and one who can strike well from range (one of the few things he does well in my opinion). They also both makes runs beyond the forwards at times which none of our other midfielders seem to do but we bring on Thiago to try and make the breakthrough which doesn't happen. Maybe not all Thiago's fault as there wasn't the space for him to thread through balls onto the forwards who for the most part stayed out wide in Mane and Salah's case but anyway but there was no discernible upgrade or change when Thiago was introduced.
If you need a goal why not play someone who is more likely to directly create or score a goal.

I shit my pants when thiago came on. Remember last season when he came on for Jones against Leicester, gave the ball away, the next thing we'd conceded two when it looked more likely we were going to win. I just don't think he's got the pace of strength for this league.

The Spanish Lucas!

Also, if we sell him now, we might not have anyone left to sell when Jota is up for a contract extension in the next two years. Planning for the future is important.

Exactly this, I dont think our midfield is safe with him. Even against Burnley the other week, Thiago comes on and does two fuckwit headers that puts our defense at risk. Klopp is to blame for this, he needs to adapt. Yes it works against the dross, but not against the top teams, and there are more well prepared teams this season than there has been in the last three seasons.

Make or break season for Jones really. He's now had enough experience that we can reasonably expect more from him. And with Elliott pushing his way into the lineup, there is pressure from below.

He will either solidify himself into the midfield rotation, replacing Milner, Ox, and/or Keita or we will be looking at selling next year.

Selling now, unless we get an absurd offer, would be poor asset management. He has a higher ceiling that what we'd get now, up to him to realize it.

Fuck me Moron. Thiago has won 11 league titles, two Champions Leagues, two FIFA Club World Cups and a gazillion other cups ... but he shouldn't play against the top teams in the PL. Unbelievable.
