Cup talk - Spurs at home

Perhaps I'm being harsh but I wanted to see him effect the game in the final third, I didn't see him beat players with pace, didn't see him waltz past anyone, saw him shrugged off the ball a lot and never saw any of our real chances coming from one of his passes.
Origi on the other hand beat people all over the place, showed bags of pace and power and played some wonderfully dangerous passes.

Maybe it will come but I didn't any evidence of that tonight

You know where he plays, right? And you know where Origi plays?

The only thing I agree with is that Ejaria need to get stronger but FFS he's a kid.
He showed a lot of maturity and compusure with the ball at hisfeet. Wait until he figures out the pace of the game and you'll see just how good he could be.

But if we're talking odds, I think dreamy is on the winning side because it's obviously more likely that he won't make it at LFC than the chance that he will.

What game were you watching Pat? Slow? Nah. Quick enough feet? No strong enough? We played in red, you get that, right?
Ha.
Yes and I thought he was that weak point in our attacking play time and time again.
Everywhere seems to think he was good so maybe I'll rewatch but when I compare him to the other young player getting a chance in Arnold it was chalk and cheese. Arnold was brilliant

Ha yes but If he's supposed to be a Henderson, gini or a Can type I don't see it at all. And he certainly doesn't have what's needed to be a Lallana.

Don't see where he would slot into the team at all.

Thought Kevy Stewart was really really good. In fact I can't think of a game where he's played and I haven't thought this lad hasn't got something. He seems to always be in the right place at the right time and rarely gives the ball away. Could be a decent squad player for us.

I hope someone finds a clip of Alexander-Arnold coming off the pitch. Most players just accept a hug from Klopp. This lad went to him with open arms, he'd been dreaming of that hug. It really made me laugh.
Ya I laughed at that too, was excellent

So far he has faded here and there, but by all accounts his attitude is brilliant and he's desperate to improve, so I'll always will him on. Great he and Alexander-Arnold have been offered new contracts.

Stewart, ejaria, Arnold - all very good

Grujic was a bit meh, wijanldum was tidy but a bit invisible at times , Moreno did well I thought but as per went missing on two occasions which almost cost us .

I genuinely don't understand why Moreno isnt pushed further up the pitch as a winge for whatever, he's got a decent first touch , lightning speed and can kick a ball sometimes , the concept of marking a man and or tracking back is easily the weakest part of his game

Moreno. That guy is just thick. His corners, my god, he didn't even clear the ankles of the first man. How the hell could he be so poor at that? And after being dropped, I'd expect him to come back looking really hungry. He came back looking like he was interrupting his vacation.

It wasn't always the most entertaining and perhaps didn't quite end in the triumphant way the overall performance deserved but was a really good win.

I thought Spurs were well beaten. They had that spell in the first half where they enjoyed a lot of possession and there was a bit of a fear of the game really turning but we defended well, they created nothing and we wrestled back control. We had the better of the chances by far and the only hope they got was through our knack of shooting ourselves in the foot.

Lucas marshaled well at the back but was stupid for kicking out several times right in front of the referee.

Thought Moreno had a pretty decent game for the most part. The problem, as always with him, is that there is at least always one moment of sheer stupidity. Thankfully he got away with it today. Also, I don't understand why he was taking corners.

I can't work Stewart out. He looks really elegant on the ball at times, more than you'd expect from a bit-part player brought in as a reserve pretty much, but at others his passing is rubbish. I wonder what his level really is.

Grujic and Ejaria both showed encouraging signs and warrant more game time than we can currently offer to show what they can do. Hopefully there are some more cup games coming up for them.

Nice debut for Arnold as well. I thought he showed good attitude and desire - was particularly bemused by his and Moreno's corner but figured fair play to him for having the balls to get involved like that.

Origi looks ready to kick on again. Held up the ball really well, showed good feet and all in all put in a good performance. Just needed a goal to cap it off. In an ideal world he'd be starting games week in, week out and developing. Tricky one to manage really.

Sturridge - finally. He clearly looked like he was enjoying himself and there were signs of his old self, which was great to see. Sure, it was Spurs second string but if he can deliver big performances I don't think pressing, systems or whatever else should matter that much.

Nice to see Ings get a good reception but one or two moments aside, looked off the pace. Not the easiest game to come back into as Spurs are pretty high octane but unfortunately he's not really going to get many opportunities to find his feet. Send him out on loan in Jan.
