just caught the backpages saying rafa wants him back for 12 mill.

What happened to your sauce then? He hasn't exactly been bang on the money so far......

we're in for him.

Absolutely no chance.

We've finally found a way of incisive, quick movement going forward. We could do without him shimmy'ing the ball back to the halfway line everytime he gets it.

Crouch is a good footballer, but he's not for us. He'll go to Spurs.

Redknapp was just saying he couldn't afford him given his age, the fee and the wages.

Right.

Expect him to repeat that statement atleast twice per week for the next four weeks.

Listen to the interview, he's obviously gone to Daniel whatever and asked for crouch. Daniel has given him a Return on Investment spreadsheet to fill in haha.

12m is to much but he was and would always be a decent option off the bench.

One thing is for sure we need better options for when Torres gets injured.

Fucking hell. I hope not. Whatever Rafa is planning for the transfer window, he's leaving it late.

I can honestly see him not bringing in a forward player/cover for Torres, and letting Xabi go for big bucks near the end of the window and not getting a replacement.

It was bad enough signing the lad first time round. No Rafa.
[/quote]

Harsh

He was never going to be good enough, but he was well worth the £7M paid for him, and did better than many expected.

ha ha, that is SO true, some one whould give him a ball in an advanced position, he'd control it, dribble back to the half way line and lay it off. ha ha crouch does the best dog fetching a stick impression ever.

If he hadn't wanted regular first team football Rafa wouldn't have sold him, and rightly not. He was a useful option, unsettled many an opposition team (Milan couldn't believe their luck when Rafa didn't pick him in Athens for a start) and, after a very slow start, ended up with a far better goals-to-games ratio than his critics here and elsewhere seem to realise.

That said, this move's never going to happen. Whether Rafa wants him or not, Crouchy's no more likely to get a regular first team spot now than he was when he left, so why would he come back?

I don't know. If someone is never going to be good enough then i think the £7m is a waste of money. Same situation with Pennant.

Funny , I always thought that was called retaining possession.
He almost inevitably played with his back to goal and no one else around him up front to take the ball off him.
If he had been allowed to have a bit of a run with Torres we might have seen something different.
As the Judge says he was a very useful option and far better than his critics ever gave him credit for.

Exactly Vlad.

Whereas Babel would just allow it to bounce off his shin to an opposition player, but that's ok because he's gonna be some player once he develops that first touch and his brain starts to grow.

I think Crouch could have developed a really good partnership with Torres, a change of system maybe but it would have been useful in alot of games.

Huntelaar is young enough to have resale value though, Crouch doesn't. You know the way Levy works, Fiscal responsibility first football second.

Harry must be pissed he's at a club that won't let him bankrupt them.
