Coutinho gone. 142m

I think add-ons are fair enough if you're dealing with a young, breakthrough player, like a Lemar or Mbappe. The player has lots to prove and a big fee is a gamble. Cuntyo is one of the best players in the PL and one of the best players in the Brazilian national team. This isn't a gamble. He is guaranteed class.
Exactly this , what risk is there ? Young , great injury record and tearing it up in a much more competitive league he's clearly going to be as if not more effective than he already is in in the Prem .

Fuck off The performance related bonuses and put them on the squad winning shite or sack them off altogether , cheeky cunts

If they paid €145million for Dembele, they should be paying considerably more for Coutinho, he's a far better play. €175million at least.

Young players are extremely valuable though, especially when they are deemed the future stars of the game, as well as being able to be brilliant in the present like Dembele & Mbappe.

I back Klopp to improve us should Coutinho go.

He's signing players like Keita, VVD, Salah & Mane. More of that type and we'll be fine.

Don't mind losing our best players as long as we buy well.

Sold Keegan, got Dalglish.

Sold Rush, got Aldridge.

The issue is when you buy crap. Like we did with Suarez going and bought Balotelli & Lambert.

Even when we lost Owen in 2005, it should have made us regress. But Rafa got Alonso & Garcia, then we won the CL.

I don't fear losing players now under Klopp as I fancy him to improve us with the large funds, as he bought extremely well at Dortmund and I like the buys he's doing here.

You don't want to be part of this team on the up Phil, no issue - good luck at Barca. But we'll be fine and as long as Klopp is here and gets the funds, we'll keep improving.

Liverpool increasingly appear ready to part with Philippe Coutinho and a fee in excess of £140 million, including a base payment of about £100 million, is likely to see Coutinho granted his wish of moving to the Nou Camp this month, writes @_pauljoyce thetimes.co.uk/article/jurgen…

I don't want him sold in Jan, but I can understand if Klopp sanctions the sale now.

There's no point in us having a non playing sulking option when we have City and Spurs to face this month. Get the 140m and reinvest it immediately.

At the start of the season, we couldnt sell him, because Lallana was out for a while and we had no time to bring in a replacement by the time a bid came in.

If Barca try to play silly buggers agin (and come in with a late bid hoping to force our hand, tell them to FCUK OFF). But, if they bid by the weekend, then let him go.

Fuck that, keep him at all cost.

He'll continue to perform so he gets his move in the summer and is ready for the WC.

We have a real chance of winning the CL.

Yeah i'm starting to think he might have a B'allon D'or (or whatever the fuck its called) in him

I've no doubt he will get one when he's at Barca.

However if he stay here this season wins the CL and then the WC with Brazil it would be between him and Neymar for the 2018 award.

I really like this post - and it speaks the truth. We have been very lucky - and don't forget that when Torres left - we ended up with Suarez, and in many ways we have always had the best strikers in the world at some stage despite our barren years not winning the league. I don't think we need to worry about losing Coutinho - I have a few key points regarding this:-

1) First of all I really trust Klopp like @LFD - he will get the right player for that position - I just know it. Even if the replacement is not up to scratch from day one - he may be from day 2. Klopp will get the funds and buy good - of that I have no fear.

2) When Mane was absent last season and Coutinho came back into the team in that horrid month - I realized that he is not the one that can be the ultimate match winnner for us. It was Mane who drove us last season with Coutinho the supporting act, and this season it is Salah/Mane/Firmino who are driving us with Coutinho the support act. As some poster on here mentioned a while ago - Klopp I feel has to accommodate him into the team in an area where a degree of defensive strength is required - and he does not provide that for us. We can easily be overcome in midfield when he is one of the midfield - I have noticed this in numerous matches - as much as he provides us an ability up front - he has been a liability for our midfield. If someone new can give us 75% of what he gives going forward, and 70% more defensively - then we will be better served by that new player.

3) I have never thought having in the team was going to guarantee us a winning match - free kicks - oh yeah he is great at them. But when it gets tough - he needs mega support and he is one of those players that plays his best when the rest of the team plays well. With Mane/Salah/Firminio - they don't need that to play well - they will play well as much as they are feeling well. I don't think it is a dead certainty that Barca is going to be his calling - he does not strike me as the player to take responsibility and drive a team to winning like Suarez did for us or Messi is doing for Barca. I think at Barca they sign you and expect you to produce the goods without the support structure of the other key players in the team. So he ain't gonna get a Firminio/Mane doing donkey running for him to make space - he will have to find it himself and do the business.

I want this whole shit to be over - so if we have lined up our replacements and Barca have offered the right money - then drive the little fucker to the airport before he becomes toxic to the rest of the team and those that see us as their stepping stone to La Liga. Really the quicker this is over the better it is for our team - trust LFC, and Klopp - we get the replacements the team deserves eventually (God/Allah Willing).

MORON

I've accepted him leaving, but in the summer and not in January. We need him in the team to make sure we manage to finish top 3 (or 4) and have a good CL run.
We'll have better chance replacing him in the summer.

And I don't like this add one thing. It will force us want him to do well in Barcelona, while I'd like to see him injured the minute he leaves.

142 mill £ bid According to Joyce.
106 mill + 36 mill in add ons (realistic ones and not Coutinho saving the planet from being hit by a meteor while wearing Nike gear)

They can Fuck right off with that offer. The Nike stunt and all their cuntish players tapping him up adds at least £30m to the deal. Unless the deal is north of £150m and add ons on top we are dickheads. The next year they'll be trying for Firmino or Sallah. Send the message to the cunts now pay top dollar with none of these variable bullshit or jog on

where's the January Added Tax for this transfer , you can't take a clubs best player for only 10m more then you offered in out season can you ? Irrespective of the fee.

the Echo and others are already referring it to a £140m transfer based on those 35m of addons being certainties or whatever but it still feels like a bum deal. He has four years left on his deal . There is fucking light and day between coutinho and dembele, the fee should represent that.

No Ticky, no laundry.

Really?

You think he could have gotten him to perform any better than he currently is on the pitch?

I would say he's handled him amazingly.

I don't think he's saying that. I think he means that the whole situation could have been better handled and possibly avoided.

We leak goals left right and centre. It's inevitable that a player of that sort of quality will become pissed off, when they are constantly coming up trumps for the team, only to see their contribution undone by naivety at management and team level. How many times have the likes of him and Mane or Salah walked off the pitch having done their job, only for chumps like Mignolet and Lovren to have fucked it all up? The defensive issues in the team have been ongoing and that stops with the manager. I'm sure it will get better but it's taken a while and it's cost us. That's my gripe over all this.

Coutinho was always going to attract the big guns, I think we're dickheads for actively wanting to sell in January.

I dont think our defensive issues have anything to do with Coutinho wanting a move to Barcelona.
I'd think he'd be after a move regardless.
Its pretty much the same for any player from South America when Real or Barca come calling.

I don't doubt that "Coutinho to Spain" was always on the cards, we knew that from the word go, especially after Suarez went, he was bound to be the next one on the conveyor belt, but I do think that my point is valid. Mane, Coutinho and Salah have every right to feel aggrieved, when they consistently do their jobs and others let them down. There's only so long that can happen for. It's an issue that can and arguably has caused unrest.

Well I think I’d rather have a shit load of world class attackers (hardest players to recruit) pissed off at a shit defense than a solid team shit at attacking.
I guess Klopp took the opposite order/approach to most managers in sorting rhe attack and fluidity out first. Cunt was a goner either way I think.
Hopefully we don’t stop at just VVD and Keita. I feel very positive about what Klopp’s done in just a couple of years.

But, like others, I believe the way Klopp sets up gives us freedom to attack, but also leaves us vulnerable in defence. So, while some goals will be down to individual errors, others will be down to the way we set up. And, the way we set up also allows Mane. Salah and Coutinho to do what they do best. That's not to say we couldn't improve defensively, of course we could. And replacing Mignolet and Lovren would be a good start. But I still think we'll be a vulnerable to a certain extent. Just with less individual defensive errors.
