I do not believe that Torres reveres Benitez in the the way you suggest. I'm sure Torres could be convinced to stay by the new manager coming in. But the real question is whether or not the new manager, or Benitez for that matter, is forced to sell Fernando to bring in the much needed funds to rebuild.
If no investment is forthcoming then £80M+ will be extremely tempting to any manager.

I don't normally bother with other sites but a poster (on Rawk I think) who appears to have a financial background basically reiterated what he had posted a couple of months back.
Basically there was little or no interest when Merryl Lynch and Rotchilds tried to to get investment and/or a sale of the club. Therefore there was no reason to believe that Broughton, for all his "contacts" would be expected to be any more successful. The sale of the club is not imminent and is unlikely to occur in the short term.
In the mean time I suspect that there will be some asset striping of the club in order to continue to meet debt repayment deadlines
