They've got Roberto Carlos too...not a bad left-hand side.

Marcelo was one of their best players this season. He can play LW too. Can't see them letting him go.

I hope not - he cannot defend.

Marcelo can't really play LB as he is not a good defender and Real don't do keep ball quite as well as Barca.

He has improved markedly for them however and I'd be surprised if they let him go. He was a good outlet for them on the left last season. I think he's probably better out there than Di Maria!

That's a lot of money, didn't they sign Garay for quite a bit recently too ?
Garay cost over ten million at the time. It was def in the teens. He was loaned backed to Satander at first I think and never got a run in the side.

That's a bit strange.

They are currently 2nd in the Russian league. Got took over by a Russian billionaire (http://www.forbes.com/profile/suleiman-kerimov) earlier this yr.

Apparently both Spanish and English clubs as well but he chose Gladbach due to their overall offer apparently. I'm with you though, quite baffled that he didn't end somewhere a bit more illustrious (at this day and age at least). Will be interesting to see him in the Bundesliga though.

Well, we can certainly state that Dzudzakisface from PSV chose a club based on money.
Yeah, even the PSV technical manager mentioned it as a 'surprise' move. Deal reportedly worth £12.3 million.

''We lose a highly-rated player,'' he said. ''Under Fred Rutten, Dzsudzsak developed into an international class player. His fine performances drew the attention of many clubs and his transfer was inevitable, although his choice for Anzhi may come as a slight surprise.''

He claims the club's ambition of qualifying for CL football is the main draw though (top 3 qualifies, 2nd at the moment).

Norwich

Elliott Bennett from Brighton (undisclosed) - I'd guess at about £2m

Another inspired signing by Paul Lambert - he plays wide right and could be a very useful acquisition and another one worth thinking about for your fantasy football teams as he could be this years Charlie Adam i.e. cheap but loads of points.

For an extra million they could have bought Mikael-Smith from Peterborough who would probably shine in the EPL although he's 5 years (approx, I can't be arsed checking that) older than Bennett.

Have you seen him in action, Pesam? One for the future or immediate impact? This signing mirrors the Morison one in terms of going to the Football league to source for talent. Morison managed to impress in the Championship while this lad was in League One with Brighton right? Shows how much they think about him to trust him in making 2 steps up the grade.

I've seen him loads of times Binny and he's very talented, he's quick and direct and has a very good shot on him. It was obvious when he was at Bury that he could play at a higher level and last season was a big test for him but he shone in the first division. I was very interested to see how he'd do against Championship defences but he's now gone straight in to the Premier League.

There's no guarantee he's going to be good enough for this level but I have a suspicion he'll adapt well because he seems like an intelligent player.

His younger brother, who I saw a couple of times this season, also for Bury, is even more skillful and rumoured to be on the way to a Championship club.

Craig Mickael-Smith is the one I'm watching out for because I thought Norwich would go for him. I'm very sure he's good enough for the EPL but at 27 I don't understand why nobody has taken a chance on him yet.

Oh and to answer the question.....I reckon immediate impact - Norwich played some very nice football last season but no real width, I think Bennett has been bought more as a regular starter than as a squad player.

Olympiakos
Ivan Marcano (Villarreal)

I see Pesam. That's nice to hear. I mentioned before I like the way Norwich and Swansea have done their business so far with Morison (plus Bennett now) and Graham. Opportunity for lower league talents + hunger and desire. Won't have to worry too much about having to break the squad up if relegation does happen. Will be able to play a part in regaining promotion too. In the event when they impress, the club will be able to make a healthy profit too. Defo worth a go.

There's so much talent in the lower leagues but it's about being spotted. Unfortunately plenty of players who are good enough for the EPL never get a chance to play there.
I think the word you are looking for is 'corrupt'
A player who is free playing non league football is recommended to him by Queroz then the player signs for Guimares and is then sold on to United for 7m.
Surely im not the only one who thinks Guimares didnt get all the 7m

I'm not that into the details of the transfer but he never looked like a proper footballer to me let alone United-quality. Something certainly seems well rotten.

Now we know where he gets his money from to buy thoroughbreds for racing.
