Málaga Club de Fútbol and Associaçao Académica de Coimbra have reached an agreement for the transfer of Flávio Nunes Ferreira (Oliveira do Hospital, 19/10/1991), from Portugal’s ZON SAGRES League in 2012/13, and one of the most promising defenders in his country. Ferreira, who can work as a central defender or defensive midfielder, leaves Académica de Coimbra after becoming the youngest player in the team’s history to wear the captain’s armband, at just 21 years old. The agreement is for three seasons – until 2015/16 – with the option of one additional season. The player will be officially presented before the team starts the pre-season.

Flávio Nunes Ferreira began his career in the lower ranks of Oliveira do Hospital. In 2009/10 he signed his first professional contract with Associaçao Académica de Coimbra, in the ZON SAGRES League, where he was on loan for the first two seasons. The first was with GD Tourizense, playing 19 matches and racking up minutes on the pitch. In 2010/11, at just 18 years old, he played for SC Covilha in Portugal’s second division. Flávio Nunes Ferreira played 22 matches with Joao Pinto’s side, and after his loan period came to an end, he returned to Académica de Coimbra in 2011/12. This was an historic season for the club and for Flávio himself, making his debut in the first division at 19 years old (playing a total of 22 matches), and the team won the ‘Taça de Portugal’. During 2012/13, he became a crucial part of Académica de Coimbra, playing 38 official games, six of which were in the Europa League.

Flávio Ferreira, Málaga Club de Fútbol’s new signing, passed his medical examination early this morning at Clínicas Rincón – Málaga Club de Fútbol. As soon as the results were announced, the player signed the contract with the Blue and Whites for the next three seasons, with the option of one additional season.

Bundesliga side Hannover 96 have completed the signing of Florian Ballas on a free transfer from FC Nurnberg.

The 20-year old spent last season playing in the German fourth tier for Nurnberg's reserve side, but the club were unwilling to offer him professional terms and Hannover have taken advantage to sign him on a two-year deal.

Ballas has represented Germany at Under-19 level and Hannover general manager Dirk Dufner says he was pleased to have sealed the signing.

"We are happy to have signed Florian Ballas of FC Nurnberg," he told Deutsche Presseagentur.

"We have been impressed by his performances and feel he is a young but talented defender that has every chance to become a professional at our club."

Huub Stevens - PAOK (Head Coach)

Greek Super League runners-up PAOK FC have reached an agreement with Huub Stevens for the Dutchman to take over as coach.

In a statement, the Salonika club said the 59-year-old will be presented to the media next week when he arrives in Greece to finalise the terms of the deal and sign his contract. The two-time FC Schalke 04 trainer succeeds Giorgos Georgiadis, who led the side through the end-of-season play-offs following the departure of Giorgos Donis in late April.

Speaking to the PAOK website, Stevens said: "PAOK are a club representing hard work – I have always felt at home with such teams. Our goal is to help PAOK go forward. We will do everything in our power to create a competitive team that the fans can embrace."

PAOK president Zisis Vryzas expressed his delight that "a coach of Huub Stevens's stature has agreed to lead PAOK to a better future. He believes in hard work and discipline and has a lot of success in top leagues to show for this."

Well-travelled Stevens began his coaching career with Roda JC, moving to Schalke in October 1996 and overseeing a penalty shoot-out victory in that season's UEFA Cup final against FC Internazionale Milano, in addition to German Cup triumphs in 2001 and 2002.

After spells with six clubs – Hertha BSC Berlin, 1. FC Köln, Roda, Hamburger SV, PSV Eindhoven and FC Salzburg – Stevens returned to Schalke in 2011 and steered them to a third-place finish. He was dismissed in December 2012 with the Gelsenkirchen outfit in seventh spot in the Bundesliga.

PAOK, eliminated in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round in 2004/05 and 2010/11, start their European campaign at the same stage on 30/31 July.

Figueroa signing his deal at the K.C.Stadium

Hull City have completed the signing of free agent left-back Maynor Figueroa on a two-year deal.

The confirmation comes after weeks of media speculation linking Tigers boss Steve Bruce with the Honduran international, who he first brought to the country whilst manager of Wigan Athletic back in January 2008.

Figueroa, who has 95 international caps, is keen to get started on what he describes as a new challenge.

"I'm happy to be here and to be a part of the club. It is a big challenge for me, but it's certainly one I'm looking forward to.

"When the team were playing the final few games in the Championship, I paid close attention to the results because I wanted Steve Bruce to achieve promotion. I was happy for him to earn the success. He is a great manager, and I'm looking forward to working with him again.

"I watched the Cardiff game, and after the final whistle, I turned to my wife and said, 'Hull could be an option for me next year'.”

Figueroa will join up with his new Tigers team-mates when they return for pre-season training in early July.

Owen Coyle - Wigan (Manager)
Wouldn't mind loaning him a player or two, seeing how he managed to play a part in the likes of Wilshere and Sturridge's career..

Owen Coyle says Wigan Athletic is the right place for him and wants to make the fans proud.

Giving his first video interview since becoming Wigan Athletic manager, Owen Coyle told Latics Player that he has a desire to lead an exciting Latics team and one that the fans can remain proud of.

The 46-year-old said: “My message to the fans is to come and support your team because we will endeavour to give you a team you will be proud of, a team that’s exciting and more importantly a team that can score goals while maintaining a strong defence at the same time.

“It’s brilliant to be named Wigan Athletic manager and I’m absolutely delighted to have been given this opportunity.

“I’m looking forward to doing everything in my power to get the club back into the Premier League because that’s where everybody wants to be.”

After meeting with Chairman Dave Whelan, Coyle said he knew that the club was the right place to be through the passion already shown inside and out.

“Anybody who knows the Chairman knows how passionate he is about football and Wigan Athletic and for me that was a huge thing in coming here.

“He’s very driven and he wants the best for the football club which I was really struck by.

“I know a lot about the club from my time in the North West and I know that the club’s fans are very passionate about being in the Premier League so that has to be our aim.”

Eager to get going straight away the former striker said:

“I wish we were out on the training pitch tomorrow because I’m that excited to start working with the group.

“I’m very passionate about getting the best out of the players here but ultimately I want them to be doing that with a smile on their faces as well.

“I want the fans to know that the players are representative of them and that they’ll give every ounce of effort to match the standard that you see from the stands each week.”

The new manager also expressed his aim to keep the core of the squad together whilst bringing the right faces into the club.

He added: “We’ve lost a few players who were out of contract and those going back to their parent clubs so it’s important that we add to the squad.

“The main thing is that we add quality rather than quantity.

“We need to add that quality to the nucleus of very good players that are already here and that’s something I’ve been looking into already, touching base with a few people and looking to bring the right players in.”

Steve Lomas - Millwall (Manager)

Steve Lomas believes he understands the dynamics of Millwall Football Club and hopes the fans will see that he has the qualities and characteristics to be a Millwall manager they can identify with.

Asked whether his previous association with West Ham would make his job more difficult he said: "I am privileged to have the responsibility of managing a great club with proud traditions and passionate fans.

I had no doubts whatsoever that this was the job for me. As a player I was wholeheartedly committed to whichever club I played for at the time.

But now my commitment is to Millwall as a manager. I have learned my trade the hard way, starting in non-league and working my way up. I'm no different to many other people who have played for or managed arch rivals of their previous clubs, and whilst understanding the rivalry, my focus is only on the present and the future at Millwall, not on where I have been in the past.

I enjoyed playing at Millwall because it is a proper football club with a crowd that creates a great atmosphere. I have never had a bad word to say about Millwall and now I am aiming to get the fans behind our team through the performances and results we achieve on the pitch, particularly at The Den."

The Royal Blues have completed the signing of Cologne midfielder Christian Clemens. The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year deal that will tie him to the club until 30 June 2017. He will wear the No11 shirt.

"Christian Clemens is a Germany Under-21 player with enormous potential," said general manager Horst Heldt. "We're delighted to have secured the long-term services of another German talent. He's a quick, versatile attacking player with a powerful shot who can play on either flank or in the middle," he continued. "He's also very ambitious and has a special mentality."

Clemens says he is looking forward to the new challenge: "I had 12 great years at Cologne but now I'm delighted to be wearing the royal blue shirt. Schalke are one of the top clubs in Germany and Champions League hopefuls. You don't get an opportunity like this very often."

Clemens began his playing career at SC Cologne Weiler-Volkhoven before joining the youth setup at FC Cologne. He played for all the club's youth teams and in the 2010/2011 season he made his senior debut at the age of 19 in the first round of the DFB Cup. His first Bundesliga appearance came at home against St Pauli on 12 September 2010. He made a total of 58 Bundesliga (7 goals) and 31 second division appearances (6 goals) for the Rhinelanders.

On the international front Clemens first played for Germany at under-15 level and has represented his country in every age category since then, most recently at the 2013 European Under-21 Championship in Israel.

When I was watching the Euro Under-21s, the commentator said Clemens was a good player. Maybe we should keep an eye on him.

Chedjou will make €2.2 million per-season as well as a €10,000 per-match bonus.

"Talks with Galatasaray began in December," Chedjou said speaking to reporters at his signing ceremony.

"Lille and Galatasaray decided it would be best for me to stay in France until the season ended.

"I watched Galatasaray closely this season especially in the Champions League, I'm very pleased to at such a big club."

Former Bayern Munich player Dale Jennings has today signed a three year contract at Barnsley as David Flitcroft continues his preparations for the 2013/14 season in the Championship.

After two seasons at Bayern Munich the 20 year old winger from Liverpool will be playing Championship football at Oakwell.

Jennings quickly came to prominence whilst playing at Tranmere Rovers during the 2010/11 season in which he earned the Football League One Apprentice of the Year award before making a move to Bundesliga side Bayern Munich.

Jennings speaking about his move to Oakwell said, "I spoke to the manager and the assistant manager and they outlined the plans they had for me and I felt Barnsley was the right club to take me further.

"My time at Bayern Munich has given me a different experience and I have learned a lot from it which I can bring back here.

"It's a great opportunity for me to play football back in England where I want to be and at a high level with a club that has great plans for this season.

"You only have to look at the second half of last season to see that Barnsley would have been in the top six based on those results so it is very exciting.

"I can't expect to turn up and play every week. I will have to work hard and do well for the team to earn the opportunity."

Stefano Sorrentino - Palermo

Palermo have taken up their option to sign Stefano Sorrentino from Chievo Verona despite their relegation.

The shot-stopper, 34, moved to the Stadio Barbera in January on loan but he was unable to stop the club dropping into Serie B.

The goalkeeper made 15 appearances for the Rosanero in the top flight, conceding 15 goals in the process.

There is still the possibility that the Stadio Barbera outfit could sell the player on. He’s been linked with Roma and Torino amongst other clubs in recent weeks.

Nicola Amoruso - Palermo (Sporting Director)

The 38-year-old has agreed terms with President Maurizio Zamparini, thought to be a one-year contract at the Barbera.

Amoruso will work alongside Giorgio Perinetti as the Rosanero attempt to instantly return to the top flight.

Amoruso has been snatched away from the Reggina youth system where he had been hired in September 2011.

The ex-forward had a varied career given that he appeared for 14 different clubs, including Juventus, Napoli and Messina.

Aston Villa's 4th signing,Nicklas Helenius

(£1.2million, which could rise to £2million)

Paul Lambert believes 6ft 5ins striker Nicklas Helenius will fit perfectly into his Villa revolution as the 22-year-old became his fourth new signing of the summer from Danish club Aalborg BK.

The Denmark international put pen to paper on a three-year deal to 2016 and immediately vowed to fight to realise his Barclays Premier League dream and to be an integral part of Lambert's young, emerging team.

Helenius has played alongside fellow new Villa signing Jores Okore in the Denmark international team and also at Under-21 level and the Villa manager is certain that the big forward who was recognised by UEFA as Danish Superliga player of the season in 2012-13 will prove to be a big hit with the Club's fanbase in the years ahead.

"Nicklas is a young lad but also a full international with a good goalscoring record in Denmark and he'll prove himself in the Premier League," Lambert said.

"The opportunity will be there for him, as it will be for the rest of the lads, and he has all the attributes to go and take it.

"He wants to go and make a name and a career for himself and he's made a good start at Aalborg. It's a case of continuing to work hard and building on that and I believe he can.

"He's a good player and the potential is there for him to grow into the team and grow with the team. He'll definitely be able to give the team a hand."

Helenius scored 16 goals in 33 league appearances last season and also made seven assists. In the 2011-12 season he scored 13 goals in 32 league games and for the past two seasons finished runner-up in the Superliga's Golden Boot award.

He has played twice for Denmark and has played three times for the Danish League XI, a team selected from the best players in the Danish Superliga. He has also been capped 11 times at Under-21 level, scoring four goals.

"This is a big opportunity for me, a big dream to play in the Premier League with a club with the history of Aston Villa and I'm very excited," Helenius said.

"I know we have a young team and I know we came through a test last season and got better as a team over the course of the campaign. I watched the game against Liverpool at Anfield and was very impressed by the way the team played. As we got more confidence in the game, we became better and better and won 3-1 with some great attacking football.

"In Gabby Agbonlahor and Andi Weimann, for example, we have good players who have great speed and energy and a real love for playing for Villa. You can see this and you can also see the strength and quality of Christian Benteke. It is really exciting to be a part of this and I'm looking forward so much to pulling on the shirt and getting to know my new team-mates.

"I've been to see the stadium and it's tremendous. The atmosphere inside Villa Park can be incredible, I know this from watching games on TV from Denmark where the Premier League, obviously, is really big. I've watched Premier League football since I was eight years old.

"I was so inspired that I used to go by myself to an empty ground in my home town of Godthaab - a town of 900 people - and just kick the ball around, practise the skills and shoot. That was my whole life growing up.

"I learnt a lot over the past few seasons with Kent Nielsen as my manager. He was a player here at Villa and, while I have always been a good finisher, he taught me to be more aggressive and determined when I don't have the ball. He showed me how to work hard and this will help me in this league.

"I thought that maybe when I was 28 or something I might eventually be able to move to the Premier League having made my mark in Danish football but now I have my chance and I think this is the right club for me with all the other young players in the side who want to do well and achieve something together.

"I want to show the fans that I'm hungry for this and that I'm very proud to be a Villa player."
