No, I'm talking about how effective the academy is in regards producing players. In the past few years we've had Spearing, Kelly and Flanagan from the academy, and none from the "bought in" academy. I know it's early days and signs are promising, but there are certainly things that could be looked at and improved.

How on earth did this Dr get such power over team selection ...surely all it would take was a "no , you don't pick the team " to put him in place . I very much doubt he had a contract that stated he had this power .And i'm sure kenny is big eough to ignore him if he wants .
And apart from kenny saying he chose the players and comolli got them , if he didn't know himself about their quality then i do worry ...fuck most here knew they wouldn't be any good or fit in .

We've been playing the waiting game with the Academy for a few years now and ideally we should be having a constant influx from the reserve team. As it stands we've got a bunch of 19 year olds and 18 year olds who aren't really there yet.
Hopefully they'll look to make the Academy more efficient.
I must say that Rafa deserves a great deal of gratitude for what he did. Our most talented players who are currently with the reserves were signed by him. Add Shelvey to that list as well.
