Club up for sale

Honestly we don't want to be taken over by whoever would want to buy Utd anyway

Yeah, I see this as an opportunity to flush out the parties we don't want. If United sells first, will set a new benchmark in terms of purchase price and likely bring ours up. Also, buyers will know the opportunities to get in at the top tier of clubs is closing off. Help move some fencesitters.

So, FSG put the club officially up for sale. Lot's of rumors it'll be an american that buys rather than an oil rich state.
Few weeks later Glazers say they are selling Manu to look at 'other projects'

Glazers are gonna bid for Liverpool right? use the same tactics to sponge millions from the club!?

  • Fenway Sports Group is prepared to sell its controlling stake in Liverpool FC
  • The move comes after embattled Washington Commanders' owner Dan Snyder said he is prepared to sell the NFL franchise last week
  • Billionaire Snyder is reportedly seeking more than $7billion for the NFL team
  • A sale of the Premier League club is expected to fetch $4-5bn for John W Henry
  • Henry could face competition from a Jeff Bezos and Jay-Z-led consortium

That would make sense. Washington is a hugely valuable but somewhat distressed asset in a league with immense revenue and cost certainty. Really fits the FSG model.

I believed that the reason the glazers are trying to sell Man Utd now is that they are hoping that who ever wants to by Liverpool will see utd as a better investment and buy them instead....
then I read this..
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/gossip
Manchester United believe their global fanbase will lure potential Liverpool buyers to Old Trafford.
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...ter-united-the-potential-candidates-sm0q3bpzb

If it is the Indian Billionaire I hope he buys them
Bring on the Arab money

Sounds about right if true, the man's won't have any quarrels to join their city cousins. Bit it's OK we can look on and know we will have no dirty arab money right ? Dirty money made through sales of natural resources as opposed to owners who run hedge finds and other trading systems that virtually cause poverty around the world.

Aw, come on!
Do you really expect bluebellend to take the time to check the veracity of some words he found on the internet?
People prior to me were reporting Man U's sale, I post a link to an article which was confirming their comments. I did not know it was my job to verify the article? Most articles are BS, I posted a link and its for people to decide a) to click on the link b) to believe in the news (or not)
This article is based on a tweet from a Man U fans account that has 140k followers which then itself links Arab Business News

So now United are up for sale, how is everyone going to feel if we get taken over by another FSG-type prudent ownership model.

And United get taken over by some free-spending Arabs.

Will we be happy claiming the moral high ground whilst them and City compete for title after title for the next 20 years?

Or we prefer it the other way? United having the moral high ground whilst we have the free spending Arabs & titles?

Tbh, this sucks.
Dubai billions, apple, Radcliffe etc all quickly jumping on the united bandwagon.

Nothing is official .
Man U
$10bn is the asking price. £515m debt, £200m+ stadium redevelopment, £50m+ training ground development
Vs
Liverpool
$5bn is the asking price, $208m debt, Stadium expansion to be complete by next summer,

LFCs turnover eclipsed Man U for the first time ever in PL era, with the expansion the club will hope to pull in £140m a year from attendances and live events (currently £88m). Though Liverpool's fan base is smaller than Man U's, its not half of Man U's, maybe 75-80%?

We are all around much better value. We just have to hope FSG sells us to someone who will spend.

I don't think it's bad United are on the block same time as us. They'll flush out other bidders and will almost certainly sell for more than us. If that happens first, they'll raise the benchmark for a sale price for a top club and will create a scarcity effect for us. After us and United, how many top class global clubs will be available in the next few years? Arsenal?

I agree, I dont see a problem with them being for sale. In all honesty they've been for sale for 6 months already so any interest being written about now is probably already known. Its not like its been generated these last few weeks, and the Glazers had to confirm the club was for sale given we are also on the market..

No fucking chance Apple buy Utd , SSN are fucking morons for even peddling such a bullshit rumour

Saudi sports minister has come out and said he wants Saudi based /backed investors to purchase both us and utd ..

Fuck that shit

Good points all. I quite agree. Utd will almost certainly be snapped up. Someone pointed out on here that while it sucks - If you can't beat them join them. This is a very likely outcome for the reds too given they are unbelievably massive in those parts. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about that but there's no point in worrying about it now. Interesting six months ahead regardless.

I though you were talking about top class global clubs?
