Chinese "Devil Virus" - anyone worried?

0e10i9no_migrants-in-up-being-sprayed-with-disinfectant-_625x300_30_March_20.jpg

Close your eyes and those of your children, order personnel in protective gear, as a group of men, women and children squat on the road. Next comes a spray of bleach and many cry out as their eyes sting. The shocking video of migrants being "disinfected" has emerged from Uttar Pradesh on a day the Supreme Court took up a petition seeking relief for the thousands walking to their home states amid the 21-day lockdown.
The video was filmed in Bareilly district - about 270 km from Lucknow. The batch of migrants in the video had returned to UP over the weekend after special buses were arranged for them. Among those watching the "disinfecting" are some policemen.
A man can be heard saying in the clip: "Apni aankhen band kar lo. Bacchon ki aankhen band kar lo (please shut your eyes, also close eyes of the kids)."
After the clip led to criticism of the district administration, an official said: "The migrants were sprayed with a mix of chlorine and water... No chemical solution was used. We asked them to keep their eyes shut."
He added: "We did not mean to be inhuman... It was important to sanitise everyone and there was a huge rush as large number of people had returned. So we did what we thought was best."
While they deny dehumanising the migrants and their children, the video gives an impression that batches are being mass-sprayed.

The Indian police don't mess around. I guess chlorine (chemical) and water (solvent) is not a chemical solution, who knew? Learn something new every day.

Hard to use the chemtrails with all these flights grounded

Just been shopping and quite a few wearing masks. Fair play to all the staff just carrying on regardless.

Just saw footage from Wuhan and everyone is wearing them, do you think we’ll end up like that?

We should be already, but our governments are too poor and its much too complicated to produce paper masks, so we have to wait a little and kill off our front line health care first.

Just checking in to laugh at the racist idiot. Hahaha hahaha hahahaha. Thanks for the daily idiotic inputs. Hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha. Thank you.

Donald Trump and the population of Seoul
During a news conference earlier, US President Donald Trump got a few numbers mixed up.
He was asked by a reporter why the US wasn't testing as much as South Korea. The president responded by saying, "I know South Korea better than anybody", only to then ask the reporter whether she knew how big the capital Seoul was.
He swiftly gave the answer himself: "38 million people - that's bigger than anything we have."
In fact, South Korea's capital only has 9.7 million people, the Seoul Capital Area just over 25 million, and the entire country around 51 million.

ITALY

"The lockdown can be opened and probably April will be the month this will happen," said Luigi d'Angelo from the Italian Civil Protection.
Asked how long it would be before life returned to some semblance of normality, he replied: "Hopefully by May or June."
He said schools could possibly return during August when it would normally be the holiday period.

Ah.. bet he didn't say which year though. Tricky little bastard.

My mistake with the masks in Austria - they are going to be given away free in Supermarkets starting tomorrow. Also a good source of free plastic gloves.

I don't understand the need for the video... just use voice and keep the camera switched off.

On Day 2 of working from home we were advised to turn cameras ON so we could see each other and feel interconnected.

I’m now into week 3 of working from home.

The cat is fucked off that he keeps getting woken up during his daytime sleepies - teach the little bastard right for waking us up in the middle of the night constantly.

The missus has to go into hospital for a minor day procedure on Friday - so we’ve been put into full lockdown for the rest of the week and if I hadn’t been working from home we would have had to self isolate within the house (which is fucking tiny) as well.

Apparently I’m not allowed to drink until Friday either.

Fucks sake!!!!

Many usefuls! Happy World Day

Extra social credit payable to Frog Xi Ping!

Brendan the 'Sun' Racist putting his brain into 'Child Overdrive' mode. He's got plenty more gears in that mode as we all know.

Bit weird that he would think Frog Xi Ping would bother me though. Quite cute actually.

How would it bother you? I'd have thought it was a massive compliment to someone like you.

There needs to be some ironic justice for that guy.

As well as for this guy:

[bcolor=#fdfbf8]Philip Thomas, professor of risk management at Bristol University, has calculated that if the UK’s GDP falls by more than 6.4% per person as a result of a prolonged lockdown, more years of life will be lost than saved[/bcolor]

Who also has no idea what the hell he is talking about. Which is why he is a professor of risk management, as opposed to actually being a risk manager for Goldman Sachs.

Hahaha!

I do know the difference between my Chemistry lecturer wanting to work in education, as opposed to, I dunno, Pfizer or GSK or whatever - it's as choice sometimes.

But I didn't quite feel the same way about the shouty braggart telling me all about advertising while doing a PGDip at Luton Cranfield, having never actually worked in advertising ever, not even in the post room at BBH for a summer.

You can understand such choices in science, if you love science and it's your passion, then academia is the only logical place to be, well up until you see what I have seen. But for economics, if you're passionate about the economy, the idea you would chose to work for a university rather than the economy itself, earning a tiny fraction of what a professional risk manager would earn, is somewhat dubious.
