On another forum I read, an Irish guy based predominantly in China has said that the actual death toll is probably many multiples of what the official figures state.
Where he is based was relatively unaffected by Covid 19 officially, yet five people he knew died from it

I had a runny nose, which turned into a dry persistent cough which lasted for around two weeks, My partner devolped the dry persistent cough, and said that she had a temperature with it, she got it about four to five days after me and had it for two weeks plus. Week had both had the Flu Jab. This started about Dec'29 - Jan'2 about a week before the stories of the Covid 19 started coming out of China... Still have a lot of catarrh, and sinus problems ( had the Sinus problems for years) but the sinus pain regularly only since I had whatever it was I had..

Because of Muslims or something.

So, a question.

Given that H1N1 *didn't* result in a recognised world-wide pandemic, or an economic collapse, worldwide border lockdown, self-isolation, all non-essential travel and business closed down.....

,,,,,,,is Frog Xi Ping and Super Y number 1 implying that all of these measures and consequences and deaths and misery, have all been introduced incorrectly and are solely due to.....racism?

And such extreme measures should have been in place when Swine Flu happened?

That wouldn't explain why China implemented the same measures. Of course they might have their own reasons for culling some of their population and destabilising the US economy.

Perhaps the probability of death being a tad higher for the rat virus might be an important factor in why the world has shit itself.

TB : kills 1.6 million per year
Malaria : 500,000 dead per year
Common Flu : 250,000 - 500,000 dead per year
RTAs : 1.25 million dead per year
HIV : killed 770,000 last year
Pneumonia (viral or bacterial) : killed over 49,000 in the USA alone in 2017.
and so on.

Covid-19 : 28,799 to date so not even on the same ballpark ... yet. And perhaps never. For certain in our lifetime there will another major communicable disease on the scale of the Plague of Justinian (supposedly wiped out half the world's population, and was a bacteria not a virus), or Spanish Flu and the smart money seems to be on a novel coronavirus. But C-19 isn't it. Watch out for the mutation though.

On what level ? H1N1 global pandemic killed millions (1918 and 2009). From all the statistical evidence C-19 won't be anywhere near that. The difference has been the response and why the human race / governments didn't react in the same way to H1N1 as they are doing to this one is rather mysterious.

Conspiracy theorists might say because H1N1 developed in the USA and the C-19 in China. Or it might simply be that the continued improvements in the speed and quantity of communication causes panic.
 
I think the more important point here is that the virus could have come from anywhere really. The bat was an unfortunate, but irrelevant, incident.
 
If we follow the curve with the whole lockdown thing it should start to level out in about 8 or 9 days when we'll be around 10,000 deaths a day

Also those deaths were over a longer timescale and able to progress to their fullest potential in a normally functioning society.
 
Korean virologists pointed out the virus didn't transmit directly from bat to human. There had to be an intermediate host, which was probably snakes or pangolins.

So bats are back on the menu so long as they aren't left next to rotting snakes.
