Chinese "Devil Virus" - anyone worried?

Mutations can occur with any replication. But the more case transmissions, the more viral replication is ongoing (more hosts).

To prevent variants, we need to reduce mutations. To do that we need to reduce the amount of circulating virus. To do that we need to keep cases to a minimum and we need to do it globally.

Will seek your confirmation of this statement - but my understanding also is that transmission between vaccinated people comes with a much weaker 'viral load' of the virus meaning you have much weaker forms transmitting and mutating, versus having unvaccinated people who would carry a much more potent viral load leading to a much stronger mutation.

The CDC are now citing an unpublished study that says the viral load is practically the same.

Hmm surely any virus that gets past the vaccine is stronger not weaker, having been able to overcome the defences ? And I'm not sure viral load has anything to do with stronger mutations?
Basically every virus has thousands of mutations a year and it's just a crap shoot as to which / or any of them / lead to a more dangerous variant. Isn't flu, whilst not directly related to Covid, a good indicator of what is likely to happen over the next few years? Though the more people vaccinated will surely reduce the opportunity for mutation and therefore variants.

Isn't the idea of 'suffering less' if you're vaccinated due to the vaccine diluting the virus, but just not to 0?

Yeah but it might also mutate into something less harmful. I know Delta skelter is more transmissible but everyone I've known get it lately (loads) haven't been that ill

This is in line with my understanding. What causes better or worse mutations is very much not certain. What is certain is that more transmission, and hence more replication, leads to more mutation.

I understand the argument that mutations that beat out vaccination are selected for survival but the goal has to be to reduce mutations overall. Which can only be done with a combination of high vaccination rates and strong public health measures.

Sells vaccines for a living

I love how you seem to require evidence before you can accept a simple statement of fact that a premier league footballer is in the top 1%. All the footballers at all the clubs in the premier league are all in the top 1%. If you can't see this, then either your understanding of football or your understanding of percentages, or both, is non-existent.

Because it isn’t a statement of fact - it’s you picking some numbers so that you can try to argue that whatever garbage you’re spouting is somehow correct.

Remind me again - are you not the one that constantly moans about scientists not doing proper science research and here you are picking random numbers out of your arse and warbling on about not needing evidence.

As usual, you’re utterly wrong, making a tit of yourself and finding it difficult to admit you’re being fucking dumb and instead doubling down on your own stupidity.

Please give yourself a break.

There are about 4000 registered professional footballers in England - I’ll let you do the math.

Plus I'm an introvert with social anxiety. Doesn't bother me a lick if we just choose lockdown instead. But gotta pick one or the other.

The statement was that "Origi is a really good footballer because he is in the top 1% from a laypersons point of view". Because your brain doesn't do many calculations, that's why you assumed that this means top 1% of professional footballers. It does not mean that, because then I would have stated top 1% from a professionals point of view which I specifically did not do for precisely that reason. 250m is the approximate amount of amateur + professional footballers in the world. The issue here is you don't know how to construct an equation to answer a problem, unlike me, so you end up getting it wrong and twisted.

Got it.

I should make vague, pointless, meaningless claims that can be interpreted whatever way I feel just so as I can pretend I’m really smart.

My mistake.

It's great to see Ross & Dantes peddling whatever theories they've seen on Parler and arguing with an expert.

I've never been on Parler.

All I'm saying is you probably would have trusted the doctors and scientists that told you smoking was good for you too.

If the goal is to stop covid, why are governments pushing experimental gene therapy that doesn't prevent the onward transmission of covid, especially when there is a cheap drug available that can do it ?

Experimental gene therapy?
Please do elaborate.

Could that not have something to do with the viral load though ? So even if some of the Covid virus gets past the defences (and maybe that's because the vaccination has not had enough time / too much time / isn't as demonstrably effective to the same extent in everyone) it's not in sufficient numbers to cause serious illness? Just hypothesising here, I'm sure there must be some real science out there to prove/disprove these notions.

I don't own the pharmacies I do casual shifts at so, if anything, vaccinating ppl is just extra work for me. I'd spend a lot more time online and jerking off in the back if I weren't putting doses into arms, trying to end the pandemic one vaccination at a time.
Can't you multitask? Like ask them to give you a reach around whilst giving them the jab? Quid pro quo?

I thought you got vaccinated as well and joined the flock.

I was fuming at the useless cunts who designed the vaccine upon suffering the chills for a day. His reaction upon suffering heart inflammation due to the vaccine is pretty restrained. Which is probably a good thing when you think about it.

Yeah... I got awful chills after the 2nd Pfizer- nearly as bad as some of my hangovers (2 out of my 3 COVID tests have been hangovers).

Oh... in other news.. I located and purchased a bottle of Bended Knee Pinot Noir - I’ll let you know what it tastes like - at some point...

Although today’s “foraging” resulted in me coming home with 12 bottles of wine and 33 cans of beer.

And a fuck load of chocolate.

Are we expected to believe that the vaccine made Ross big hearted??
