Yeah I've been watching the UK numbers and although infections have almost doubled due to the loosening of restrictions, the hospitalisation rate has hardly increased and the death rate has so far remained very low, zero a couple of days ago.
The vaccines seem to be working as advertised, you can still get infected however serious symptoms are exceedingly rare once vaccinated.
The Australian vaccine rollout is a disaster - I think we’re at 2% or something.
I’ve only just become eligible and can’t get through to book a appointment- tried numerous times over different days and after going through countless menus and automated information message, it kindly tells you they’re too busy to answer the phone and hangs up.
We’re also running out of Pfizer.
On the plus side - apart from Melbourne and our lockdown now being extended for another week - things are pretty much back to normal and the economy is getting back to pre-COVID levels.
Pretty much every outbreak can be traced back to breaches in quarantine from people arriving from overseas - hence why I think it’s absolute nuts the UK is allowing overseas travel at this point in time.
People don’t seem to understand that we’re destined to repeat the cycle of lockdowns until we can get the vast majority of people vaccinated - there is a real lack of urgency and desire for people to get vaccinated here - don’t quite understand it.

Using all adults as a measure is just Government PR. Kids transmit the virus.

The majority of people in China don't want three children or even two children and many are following the world-wide trend of not even one child. The Govt. in China, as in many other countries e.g. Japan, are trying to find ways to incentivise child-bearing.
According to accepted forecasts world population will top out around 2050 however by the end of the century the population of China will fall below 1B, Japan's population will halve, as will that of Saudi Arabia, Spain and most other countries.

I'm not claiming to know all things Chinese.
I do know they are committing genocide while the world sits and watches.
I know they are expanding their land quickly and again quietly.
China are working to support infrastructure projects in a bundle of countries, id be a loon of I thought they were doing it and then not politically pressuring the countries they are building things for.
I might not know about how many kids ppl in China want, but Its a decent guess to suggest the population will increase if allowed to have more.. though looking back 30% is a pretty stupid number to guess at.
I am aware of the info re Japan and Spain in particular but both already have an aging population and growth has been hit in recent years. China has on the other hand grown.
Can a country encourage people to have more kids? I have two and that's plenty, I wouldn't even entertain the idea of another kid, no matter what incentives I was offered.

Inner Mongolia (Southern Mongolia) has been a semi-autonomous province of China for over a hundred years. Of course after Mongolia invaded, controlled and ruled virtually all of China, if you want to go back that far ! There are actually numerous ethnic minorities living there speaking Chinese, Russian and various Mongolian dialects. The only current conflict with the Chinese Central Govt. is regarding the teaching of Mandarin in schools.
I spent 8 days there a few years ago photographing birds in two of it's wildest regions. It's taiga and tundra and more so the vast majority consists of rolling mountains (I've got lots of photos and a video or two) where human life is non-existent.
Turkistan : East Turkistan was annexed (colonised) by China over 1,600 years ago. Yes the people there are of many ethnicities, equivalent say to Nigeria (Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo) when the British threw down borders regardless of existing tribal lands, which was effectively the cause of the Biafran civil war many years later.
