When he was allowed back on following the last time he was banned he was told he was on indefinite probation (or words to that effect, I can't remember what I wrote exactly).
We have lost posters who were sick of his attitude, up to four so far since his return. A few have contacted me saying they are going to leave if he stays.
Apologies if it seems harsh, but the sad reality is we don't have many posters on here, & whilst brendan is very often fucking hilarious, that doesn't make up for the amount we'd lose should he be allowed to stay any longer
FWIW, I was a huge advocate of him returning, & this galls me somewhat, but he's done what he did last time, & become something of a parody of himself, alienating many in the process.

Not sure whatever else he did but TBH the Frog Xi Ping moniker didn't bother me at all. I quite like Brendan in his calmer moments, despite the frequent tete a tete I have with him - though I imagine those get on most people's wicks too.

Remember folks, before we have our soul searching discussion about whether he should be banned or not.... he “does not give a fuck” what anyone else does or thinks.

Brendan got worse in the last few months trying to play Devils advocate. Rosco seems to do the same but has enough self awareness to stop before it gets boring so no issues with that

The irony is he seems, to me at least, much less obnoxious on a personal level these days.

That never used to happen! He seemed to be much nastier back then.
I think he might care about being banned from SCM. Last time his good lady popped in every so often and put feelers out about it, and no, I don't think it was him testing the water.
I understand the decision but hope there's a way he can come back eventually, especially given that others have been allowed to return whom I was not glad to see back. He and I don't always agree but I do think he's part of the "rich tapestry" on here.

I dunno, he would quickly resort to insults very quickly. He was a bit of a bully, in my opinion.
There is that side to him but, as I found in my playing days, the way to deal with that stuff is to hit back hard and fast, after which 99% of the time things will calm down and one can get along OK. I don't think he's the only one who tries it either, which is essentially why I have my doubts about the banning decision - there are one or two others on here who will try to browbeat into submission those taking issue with them in some of the sharper discussions. Brendan's style of doing so is pretty acid at times, but should that make all the difference? Doesn't one need to learn to handle that on the Net generally, especially in a proven bearpit like this?

I wouldn’t say he was a bully, personally. He certainly didn’t hold back on the insults (although I agree with Peter that he wasn’t as bad as he used to be in that respect) but the people argued with tended to argue and insult back at him.
That said, I understand why he has been banned. Personally I found him funny but I can see why others didn’t.
FWIW it wasn't easy, not in the slightest.
I wouldn't say I agonised over it, but I will say I thought long & hard on repeated occasions, took in a variety of opinions, & read a lot of exchanges.
However it was assessed over a fairly long period. We've watched some valued posters leave because they were so unhappy with it, & recently have had threats of more leaving.

Name calling in your 30s and 40s is a bit tedious, if he could just cut that part out.

Yeah, him and another guy, Tony I think he was called, left pretty soon after Brendan rejoined.
Sorry but I don't miss him. I started out liking the guy but after he and I crossed swords he got quite snide and nasty. I know this is going against the flow but I would defo not want to see him come back if it meant Brendan could never do so.
I thought he was a twat. I know I'm in the minority but I'm used to that.
I think if anyone wants to come back then should be judged on their individual merit and not based if x comes back then y can’t etc, I guess is my two cents.

The last 2 months has seen a new low, pretty much resorted to nasty name calling soon as it wasn’t anyone he can get away with and seems like all the threads he created had a particular political view he wanted to push.
It kind of went downhill soon as he got his watch out, pity as the forum is what it is with variety of diverse set of views.

Name calling and childish behaviour when we are (at least on paper) grown men, is just so tiresome to read. We’re all a bit weird and fucked up in our own way, and this whole SCM universe is based on not taking anything to serious and just mong about.

His biggest problem, he will often go into a thread, and add nothing of any significance, and then he will suddenly come to life as soon as posters he likes to target, posts.
You call him out about it, he just continuous with his Vendetta..
