Chinese "Devil Virus" - anyone worried?

Look ,clinical trials start with a null hypothesis such as "hydroxychloroquine cures coronavrius" and then attempts to disprove it (like that is the only cliched crap they seem to have learned about science). Now where did the null hypothesis come from? Why hydroxychloroquine? May as well have been pulled out of your arse. So when you consider the entire set of null hypothesis that you can possibly come up with, the number of false ones will far far outweigh the number of true ones. So then, these dumb ass researchers go off and start doing trials on these nulls. Because they aren't actual scientists but glorified data scientists, there will be an error rate of false positives, of precisely 5% using their stupid confidence interval tests. So out of those millions of bullshit false hypotheses, 50,000 will come back as false positives. And the far fewer genuinely true ones will return only 1,000 true positives.

So when you look at most clinical research, you're looking at a bullshit hypothesis to begin with nine times out of ten. If that's how they want to work, then you have to wait for hundreds if not thousands of independent studies before making a conclusion.

Honestly... if Trump bent you over a table and fucked you up the ass with a barb wire covered baseball bat until you almost bled to death you’d spin it as an amazing new life-saving medical procedure that only someone as caring and forward thinking as Trump would even dare to carry out on a fellow human.

Actually you might pay him to Voltaire’s Angry Glove* you.

*Many years ago Woland - I think - mentioned this and I made the mistake of looking it up...

No, he doesn't need the money.

Wonder why a few big pharma companies went on about it too. Pretty fucking stupid to do that in their position
Profit see as profit does..

$$$$$$$

It a part of their model to offer drugs that are irrelevant to treat a condition rather than a cure.. More money to be made from that..

Psychopathic billionaires are well known for reaching a limit and then deciding not to leech anymore money from every possible opportunity

The only opportunity here is for Stevie M to sue you for the psychological injury you appear to have inflicted upon him many years ago.

Can you recommend a lawyer?

Someone who wins cases would be nice.

Ross is too expensive - can’t afford that many nuggies.

The poor bastard can't even sleep anymore without consuming several bottles of wine.

I always fall asleep shortly after the 3rd bottle of wine gets opened.

As long as I’ve had enough beer.

And I’m not sharing.

You're in luck, thanks to the pandemic guess who's just about to re-enter the legal fraternity...

Just to be precise the null should be "hydroxychloroquine does not cure coronavirus". Alternate hypothesis should be "hydroxychloroquine cures coronavirus".

Null is the conservative hypothesis. "Intervention works" can never be the null hypothesis. We cannot assume something works unless data provides strong evidence to the contrary as a way for medical trials.

A Chinese Citizen Journalist Who Filmed His Own Arrest In Wuhan Just Reappeared Online - VICE| https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/...is-own-arrest-in-wuhan-just-reappeared-online

One of the Chinese citizen journalists who mysteriously disappeared nearly two months ago after reporting on the situation in Wuhan has resurfaced, and now he’s praising his captors who arrested, interrogated, and confined him for two months.

In a six-minute YouTube video, Li Zehua praises the security forces who kept him into quarantine for a month for acting in a “civilized way.” The video, posted Wednesday, shows Li standing in front of a white background talking to the camera.

VICE News could not reach Li for comment and therefore could not determine if the video was made under duress or as a condition of his release.

Li, a former employee of state-run television station CCTV, quit his job and traveled to Wuhan in February to report on the situation there. Before his detention, he posted videos from crematoriums, virology labs, and funeral homes inside the lockdown zone.

In the video, Li recounted what happened to him on Feb. 26 when an unidentified car chased him through the streets of Wuhan before security personnel showed up at his apartment and took him away.

Looks like Trump has the attorney general on board, clever. Looks like the AG is going down the path that the stay at home orders may be illegal/unconstitutional. Trump wants people back out and going to work, governors are covering their arses and saying 'not till its safe', people are going nuts on lockdown, so he might be able to force some governors hands.

I don't know how that is determined in the USA, but how do you reconcile the stay at home orders with the immigration ban ?

The immigration ban is justified because of the Covid crisis and the need to limit the spread of the cases.

How do you then maintain that stay at home orders , based on exactly the same public health imperative, are unconstitutional ?

We have a group of loonies that begun the legal challenge to the Irish version of the laws and our method of determining the constitutionality of a legal provision is to determine whether it is the least restrictive means to achieve a legitimate objective. That is almost entirely circumstantial, had we enacted those laws outside of a crisis they are most definitely unconstitutional. But in a worldwide pandemic ?

You're perfectly entitled to argue it's infringing your human rights, but I think that highlights the dangers of pushing human rights too far. They are never absolute rights because society would simply fall apart if every dope could exercise his rights without any regard for the common good.

Although the Georgian governer was trying to open things up and Trump said it was too soon.

Who to believe?

The mayor of vegas was particularly delusional and adamant that the strip must reopen. I imagine this is what Trump sounds like to all of you brainwashed fools. Hahahaha this was her finest response:
Anderson Cooper: "If casinos re-open, are you going to be inside those casinos every night putting your life on the line?"

Las Vegas mayor Goodman: "First of all, I have a family."

You're criticising Big D for consulting with a lawyer on a matter of constitutional law? Why not, seems fair.

I'm not criticising him, people forget the majority of what he says is based on what people in his ear are telling him, people seem to think it's the other way round - he's made the majority up and a tiny bit is what his experts have told him. America's Covid response is based on what their science community decide is best.

Apparently France has outlined plans for lifting the lockdown, with sports matches before crowds to be allowed in August or September. Light at the end of the tunnel?

Is it just positive words though? I mean they can always put it back again. Hope it's based on some kinda facts but doubt it
