People can play like Barca all they want, have all the possession they want, be in the other half all they want.

I prefer goals.

They scored 5.

Manure are lucky to be walking out with a positive result here ... Chelsea were the better team and were it not for van der saar and evra (goal line and nice foul), they'd have lost.

Chelsea have a chance at Old Toilet - but I cannot see it happening.

What game were you watching LTW?

First half I just kept asking myself how the hell the mancs do this - take an average looking midfield to a CL QF against a quality team like the Chavs and utterly dominate them. There was only one team in it for the first 30 - 35 minutes. Second half the Chavs came back into it but I thought the mancs still looked more likely to score on the break.

Was defo a pen by Evra but a draw would have flattered Chelsea. I've gone off them to win the thing now but the mancs really surprised me. I truly didn't believe they had a chance at winning the CL but I now think they are capable of beating anyone. Bloody Giggs could probably play forever - his set up of Rooney's goal was absolute class.

Torres missed a sitter earlier which Lampard then saw cleared off the line, was a little unlucky with a great header but then produced one of the worst dives of all time. If he'd still been in red I'm not sure I could have shown my face in public for some time
I don't Wiz #2 ... They got a goal and sat back hoping to hit Chelsea on the break ... They created what? 2 chances (one was the goal obviously). Chelsea, come the 40th minute, were all over them. Manure were lucky to end up with 11 players on the pitch and with a clean sheet. As you say, worried as this is how we won Europe ... They're a dangerous team, which sadly shows how great Slur Alex is -

It was job done Wiz, people used to say the same about us when we'd walk away with an away draw or narrow win against the best teams in Europe.

They've got the away goal and a clean sheet, that's more than half the battle. It doesn't matter who you are, it's not football manager and it's virtually impossible, let alone suicidal, to be expected to go into these types of games and go for the throat. They kept it tight and it paid.

The Chavs played well enough to win but Torres just isnt working out for them. Evra got away with a clear cut penalty but his clearance off the line may well be the pivotal moment that wins them the tie.

I thought chelsea deserved something last night as they were the only team willing to attack, but their midfield was too poor. lampard in particular did nothing. Tactically chelsea were poor. Ancelotti made the wrogn choice pickin zhirkov and torres up front, he should have stuck malouda and anelka up top with drogba. And the sub for drogba i will not understand

Poor El Judas, 9 games and 0 goals.

Nice to see him getting shoved all over the place by the scum players and not a single chav sticking up for him.

They really didn't play well enough to win. They were dominated for large parts of the game, yes they had the shot cleared of the line and a clear penalty shout, but it was United who looked more threatening all game.

You'd expect Chelsea to do a lot more than they did yesterday with the resources they had out on the pitch and playing at home. They looked shot of confidence, had a distinct lack of creativity and at times looked like they weren't up for the fight.

And no surprise, but how fucking shit was the Chelsea 'support'?
Yeah, the mancs outsang them from first to last, pretty much.

Shakhtar are a good team, they should win at home.

Agreed. I think they're very good.

But 4-0? Unlikely.
I bet on them to win the CL each way, so i fucking hope so.

I can't see it I'm afraid mate.

Having said that I'd really have liked to see them take Barca over to their own patch first. I also think they'd win at home and I'd have liked to see how Barca responded to being, say 2-0 down or 3-1 down at home. I remain convinced that they won't respond particularly well to pressure from their own fans.
