blatant dive from Torres. Deserved card.
Wasn't a penalty but I think he honestly enough just fell over himself
Clear DIVE. He's no longer a Liverpool player. We don't have to make excuses anymore.

Defo a pen against Evra. Shite ref.

Chelsea has what it takes to win at OT, but it will be difficult.

Utd - Barca in the final.

I'm not interested in making excuses for him

Torres is now a typical chelsea player surrounding the ref after decisions going against them...

thing is with Torres, not only has he not scored, but in the 5 or 6 games i've seen him play he hasn't looked even remotely likely to score. i don't think i've seen him have a single clear chance in all that time. i'm serious - has anyone actually seen him miss a chance yet?

that's got to be seriously worrying for him and chelsea. not to mention brilliantly hilarious for us.

Manure are lucky to be walking out with a positive result here ... Chelsea were the better team and were it not for van der saar and evra (goal line and nice foul), they'd have lost.

Chelsea have a chance at Old Toilet - but I cannot see it happening.

no i think utd deserved to win, personally. they got lucky with the pen tho, obviously.
United had what - 2 shots on target? Chelsea had 8 (one cleared off the line, one brilliantly saved by Cech) and a penalty ... The better team lost today.

Apart from your cech statement you're bang on the money wizzy 😉

utd deserved to win. they were the better team. chelsea were unlucky with the pen, but apart from that they didn't trouble utd.

The better team is the one who scores the most goals.
not necessarily.

Quite

I thought Chelsea were rubbish tonight, and United deserved to win - or at least draw. Chelsea just don't look comfortable in a 442 at all. Lampard struggles; Drogba and Torres struggle; it means they have to play with Zhirkov instead of Malouda... it just weakens them all round. Ancelotti's going to have to risk his master's wrath to get anything out of this tie, I reckon.

People can play like Barca all they want, have all the possession they want, be in the other half all they want.

I prefer goals.

I thought Chelsea were pretty poor, they seemed short of decent ideas.

Who gives a smelly fuck ?

Both teams are cunts and as long as neither win this competition, this year, I don't friggin care who was "better".

One thing I now am prepared to admit; Drogba is a better/more complete player/striker/whatever than Torres.

Is it alright to dislike the Chavs even more than the Scum?

Coz I definitely do.

I really dislike Utd, but I don't hate a football club more than those horrible soulless cunts in blue.
I hated Chelsea more than United until the Scum won their 18th title.
It's not that sort of thing I hate either of them for; I hate the fans, the shirts, the players etc.

If they win things and we don't that's our fault as far as I'm concerned.
I agree that there's more to hate about Chelsea (actuallt there's nothing to like) but I'm Liverpool thru-and-thru and our pre-eminence in the English game is a huge factor in my hating of United. I didn't even dislike them in the 70's and 80's because they weren't a threat to our records.
I hated the scum in the 70s and 80s. Always hated them and always will.

Well done for not picking up on my deliberate contradiction.

And don't come back with "well done for blah blah blah".

What game were you watching LTW?

First half I just kept asking myself how the hell the mancs do this - take an average looking midfield to a CL QF against a quality team like the Chavs and utterly dominate them. There was only one team in it for the first 30 - 35 minutes. Second half the Chavs came back into it but I thought the mancs still looked more likely to score on the break.

Was defo a pen by Evra but a draw would have flattered Chelsea. I've gone off them to win the thing now but the mancs really surprised me. I truly didn't believe they had a chance at winning the CL but I now think they are capable of beating anyone. Bloody Giggs could probably play forever - his set up of Rooney's goal was absolute class.

Torres missed a sitter earlier which Lampard then saw cleared off the line, was a little unlucky with a great header but then produced one of the worst dives of all time. If he'd still been in red I'm not sure I could have shown my face in public for some time.

Barca looked exceptional for large parts of their match but, honestly, are extremely lucky not to have conceded 3 goals. A gilt edged one on one that went just wide of the post, another which hit the post and ran back along the entire goal line to Valdez. They look really vulnerable to a team who is capable of defending them for lengthy periods but breaking with pace and power. I reckon Chelsea would be that team - not sure the mancs, Madrid or Schalke could do it.

With Zhirkov and Ramires in the wide positions they did a decent impression of us.
So. True.

Actually, I'd take Zhirkov.

Shakhtar are a good team, they should win at home.
Agreed. I think they're very good.

But 4-0? Unlikely.
