Torres won't score, but chelsea will edge it

Mark Lawrenson at Stamford Bridge on BBC Radio 5 live: "On current form I don't think I would be picking Fernando Torres. He looks like he has lost half a yard of pace, and his confidence and belief. It's getting to the stage where you are wondering if he is going to get it back."

And aren't we all on tenterhooks about that.
Would be nice to see him tear Vidic a new one though.
Again lol

Absolutely. That would make it Vidic's third then, if my arithmetic's right. 8)
I'm hoping for 4-0 to Chelsea. It needs to be 0-0 until 15 minutes to go, the replacement of Torres at that point by Anelka tips the balance and he and Drogba net a brace each to effectively seal the tie.

haha, i'll take 4-0 chavs anyday. got a feeling torres will dominate vidic and drogba likewise against a not match fit rio.
Ferdinand at his best is an excellent defender but IMO this is as unusual risk by Fergiscum because Ferdinand hasn't played much in recent months and can't be 100% fit - I think (and hope) this could backfire.
His replacements haven't done well in his absence though. Smalling's shown a bit of promise but Brown and particularly Evans have been fairly poor. I can understand the old goat going for it, though just like you I hope it blows up in his face.

Torres' interplay with teammates has always been under par.
His finishing and creativity (for himself) is (usually) world class though.
Yea, he was shit with Gerrard.
What's your point? That it's great?
I think that partership had more to do with Gerrards' great interplay than Fernando's (how many assists did he give to teammates?). Even for Spain, he's been quite poor when his finishing isn't on point.
Gerrard on the other hand has formed great partnerships with almost everyone I can think of, when played upfront.
