Chelsea explode

He walked onto the pitch which he cant do. The ref had every right to send him to the stands.
Willians second yellow was harsh.

He didn't abuse the ref. He walked on the pitch and spoke to him. Why he felt the need I don't know because the tackle was indefensible.

It was to try and get Agbonlahor sent off for running off the bench and touching the back of Ramirez' neck. Prat. His prancing around waving an imaginary red card earlier on is why the ref decided to fuck Willian, oh yeah that's how Chris Foy rolls. He do and he goes home loool

Why didn't he send Lambert to the stands then? Anyway I'm not that arsed. Mourinho's a prat and if he's been served some rough justice even better.

Was Lambert on the pitch aswell? Didnt know that. Maybe Mourinho said something about Foy?
As you said, he deserves it regardless.

Why does the discussion on Mourinho always have to go to extremes? For sure his antics at games are often silly, and sometimes worse, but sorry - there just isn't any reasonable argument against his record, which is extraordinary. He's a tw@t all right but - yesterday's meltdown notwithstanding - he's very, very good at winning.

I thought Delph had a very good game. Quick, strong and intelligent. Should we try signing him? Or is he just anther Ashley Young that looks great at Villa but will not make it at a big club?

Could be stronger

good post. i am a fan. he has a bit of 'devil' about him too. english premium might be prohibitive but he is a player who I think would really thrive with much better players around him and not melt away a bit like Young

He had a really good game yesterday but he's just isn't consistent enough. Lambert has made him a much better player though and he's starting to realise his potential.

He is lightweight indeed.
According to Wikipedia he's 1.74m 60Kg!
Just for comparison - Raheem Sterling is 1.70 and 69Kg and Coutinho is 1.71 and 72Kg!

Well, he could be put on a diet and muscle up!

People have been saying that about Delph all his career though. He seems to have hit a good run of form now, but it's taken him a very long time to get there and I have a hunch that this is about as good as it gets with him. Good player but IMHO we need to set our sights higher.

It's true that Lambert was also on the pitch, but I think Mourinho courted trouble and pushed the limits by raising his voice at Foy and approaching him after Ramires had been carded. You can hear him yelling "Hey hey hey" as he took the few strides towards Foy while the ref was attending to matters on the pitch. Foy probably interpreted that as a confrontational move, or as a refusal to comply with the 4th official's earlier instructions to the managers to stay off the pitch (see about 0:18 part of clip - you can see the 4th official urging the managers back).

Hes a good player Jimmy, I've always rated him. Worth a punt IMO.

He was at it all match. Managers have been sent off for what he was up to long before that last incident, and he knows it. Yet again, they had his number in Italy and Spain, and he felt increasingly trapped because of that. In England he gets away with murder, and knows that even when refs tire of it all he can even excuse himself for his antics.

Just seen the Ramires sending off again and I don't think Foy saw it or was going to produce a card.

I think it was everyone's reaction which led him to assume it was bad and so produce the card

Exactly. Could have been the linesman or the 4th ref.

Again people see his second yellow (1st was clear-cut) as dubious. However it's not. Week-in week-out players are booked for pulling back or bring down players in 'sprint mode'. We more often see it on the wing though and it brings a yellow virtually every time, the refs clearly have instructions and it's good there is consistency. Delph was clearly running hard at the Chelsea defence and Willian brought him down 'hands-on' so though not a bad tackle/foul it was a bookable offence no matter how soft.

Is the right answer. Chelsea had been doing that-- innocently-looking tugs and fouls top break the game when under attack all match long (actually it is typical Mourinho tactic). Willain had no chance of legally stopping Delph. Even more ridiculous was his hands-in-the-air (so he couldn't possibly have tugged him, could he 🙄). Referee didn't buy it. And rightly so.

Mourinho now asking the Foy doesnt referee anymore Chelsea games.

What a thundercunt.

For some reason, I have always been a Foy fan. Now I know why.
Mourinho whether deserved or not, has been a constant moaning agressive "C", now whether deserved or not, he was sent to the stands. Have little sympathy with him or the Willian, who's pretty much been doing a great job harrying and pressing midfield players since he's joined but not always legally. Fck those plastic flag bearers...

They used to let Ginsoak get away with questioning the integrity of a ref, I wonder if they'll do the same with Maureen, because this is surely as close as you can get to suggesting a ref is bent without actually saying it:

"I never care who the ref is. I don't want to know. But during the week the players were speaking about the situation and I think from now on the next time we have Mr Foy I have to work my people in a different way."

"Maybe it's helpful that the Premier League referees' committee doesn't send him (Foy) to our matches," said Mourinho.

"I think they have to analyse the situation and see if every time he has Chelsea - or not every time - but many times he has Chelsea and problems are there, I think maybe it would be a good decision."

Heh. That is surely ban-worthy.

It won't happen, but as you say, he's basically calling the ref out there.

Didn't Rodgers pretty much say the same after the City game?
He got a fine.

Not really. He made a point about the principle of using a local ref. One could say there was some justification for that, as the FA implicitly acknowledges the possibility of local bias by usually blocking local refs. (And I still think Rodgers was absolutely right to highlight the inconsistency: "We at the FA think local refs might be biased, or accused of bias, unless it's at Christmas, when they need to travel back to their families, and so won't be biased, or accused of being biased".) So he wasn't making a strictly personal accusation. Mourinho is. So if Rodgers got a big fine for the former, Mourinho should get a much bigger penalty for the latter.

Yeah that's true

But of course, nothing will happen. Wouldn't we have heard by now if the FA were going to charge him?

There was more media furore over a (non)-spitting incident than that horrific Ramires leg-breaker.

Can you imagine if Suarez had done that?
