Carroll - 15m fee agreed

Whenever I feel a little sick over the 35 Million we paid for Carroll (bearing in mind we get 15Million back from WH) I think about the 8 million we paid for Coutinho and all seems right again with the world. 8 MILLION!!! I mean WTF!!!!! 😀

I think the twenty five percent sell on clause relates to any profit we would make on selling Carroll.
As I cannot imaging anyone being stupid enough to pay £35m for him a second time, Newcastle won't get another penny from the deal

I hope so mate 🙂

We also got £2mil rental on him this year and all his wages paid so you could say we got 17mil for him out of WHU. Now for the love of god Andy please just GO

According to the Echo its 15 mill. And could be more added with different clauses.

But 15 mill straight is alright. Infact its fucking excellent.

There's no rush. Everton might get bought out by Arabs, employ Dalglish, and he can buy him for 40m.

Although I think Newcastle would get 1.25m out of that deal, Dalglish would take his standard 5.

Fit and on form and in the right team he is easily worth 20M

Sadly too many caveats... 15M is a good/fair deal...

35M was an appalling deal.

Andy Carroll could be out until August with heel injury
Striker Andy Carroll could be out until the start of the new season with the heel injury that forced him out of England's two post-season friendlies.
The 24-year-old, who spent last season on loan at West Ham from Liverpool, fell awkwardly in the Hammers' final game of the season.
Although no surgery is required Carroll could be out for at least three months.
It is understood the injury will not jeopardise Carroll's proposed move from Liverpool to West Ham.
The clubs agreed a fee in the region of £15m, but the Hammers' top scorer has yet to decide whether he wants to join the east London club on a permanent basis.
Carroll was signed by Kenny Dalglish from Newcastle and moved to Liverpool on transfer deadline day in January 2011, for what remains a record fee for a British player of £35m.
The centre forward joins Liverpool's Steven Gerrard and Arsenal's Jack Wilshere on the sidelines for England's matches against the Republic of Ireland on 29 May and Brazil in Rio de Janeiro on 2 June.

Hammers fans will not be happy if he turns them down. He must be hanging on for a bigger club. £35 million was ridiculous but he is a much better player than most on here give him credit for. If would have been interesting to see what he could have done with us if coached

He has the potential but at 24 isn't it already time for him to make the next step?
He seems to be making one step forward and then two steps backwards.

Coached? Sorry but that is bollocks.

Also, It's no surprise he takes so long to recover from injuries.
You cannot perform as a top class athlete with a lifestyle like that.

He doesn't need to be coached. He needs to be trained, like a dog.

That's why Rodgers gave up on him, because he doesn't train, he educates.

Carroll needs someone like Gary Mac walking him around with a leash and giving him a tight yank every now and then. Since we don't have that, we're better off letting him loose to hurt himself elsewhere.

I'd day it's more to do with playing quick one touch football and relying on technical ability, movement & intelligence to open up defences.

Non of which would suit Andy Carroll in any way, shape, form or manner.

Why in ducks name anyone would prefer to play him in our central role upfront ahead of Suarez & Sturridge when the pair are shitting goals is beyond comprehension.

The only thing more ridiculous would be playing outside or in the No 10 position instead of Coutinho.

That or the suggestion we should keep him for the famous "plan B" that no football team actually has.

Sturridge scored more goals than him with what, 50 games less.
Sell!!!

Some rumours about his agent meeting Newcastle and that they are interested.
Will offer a lower fee and it tight.
