Was on LFC tv.

1 Sami Hyppia
2 Gary Macca
3 Robbie Fowler (comeback)
4 Luis Suarez
5 Torres to Chelsea

Says a lot about how the players felt about him before he went.

Hard to argue with Torres to the Chavs. We got paid big time!

It would have been a different story if the Torres we sold was the same hotshot we bought.

Robbie's return over the coming of Suarez? I don't think so.

Buuuuull Shiiiiiiiiiet !

Populist bollocks.

Your crytic answers are over our heads, we're mere mortals. Ellaborate Themn!

Suarez would be higher up. Fowler wouldn't figure.

1) Hyypia
2) Hamann
3) Suarez
4) Luis Garcia
5) Torres sale.

Jose Manuel?
Definitely should be in our top 5 in recent years. Dunno who to swap him with though!

Is this Pepe and why do you always have to show off ?
Weren't you moaning the other day that people didn't know Liverpool player's correct names?
Dunno, remind me.
It's not really that important.
Yeeeeeaaaah, that what I thought.

Gary Mac HAS to be there, without him and the boost he seemed to give the side, we would never have had 2001 and our European resurgence!

Yeah, I think I'd have G Mac in there instead of Hamann, otherwise I agree with Oncey's list. For me when you talk about great signings I think of that element of inspiration, the departure from the obvious. Didi was a great signing, but he was well known in the league and in high demand, so for me not as good as those other 4.

Hyypia
Hamann
Gary Mac
Reina
Suarez (an early call, but the lad is a footballing monster)

I have to laugh at people having Suarez but no Torres!

Torres was one of our best buys of the last 20 years. He scored shitloads AND we got to sell him for more than twice what we paid.

There's other criteria though.

Without Garcia I don't think we would have won the Champions League, which was one of the best nights of my life. Even removing the bias I may feel towards him, Torres didn't deliver anything like that for us.

Didi - another newcastle signing. Jeepers we really should get a frequent shopper card for all our purchases there..

This...he was the fastest to reach 100 goals for LFC. His goals to minute/game ratio was higher than Thierry Henry, who is widely regarded to be the best Striker to have played in England during the Premiership era.

We made 2x money on selling him when his physical prowess was waning. He is still a terrific player mind, and he wouldn't have had this form slump had he stayed at the club. Sometimes it's just not possible to have a successful change of scene and it surprises me not many footballers know this. Players reaching 27/28 should be thinking about stability and maximizing what they have...not get involved in a wild goose chase. It seems no body learned from Michael Owen's plight. Torres may not have the medals to show for it, but he was regarded as the best striker in the world when he was here, he should have been content with that. He was close to becoming a household name. Look whats happened to him now....he may recover some form but will never reach those heights.

He was shite for a while before the transfer to Chelsea though.

what the fuck does it matter how many torres scored or how fast? we didn't win one trophy with him so i dont see how he can be anywhere near our top 5 transfers.
