No, not for England. For Liverpool.

Easy to forget, but I just read that he's been Liverpool captain for 9 years! I remember when Sami handed it over (with class and dignity). People get testimonials for 10, yet Gerrard looks like to be captain for more than that!

What an achievement. Is he our longest serving captain? Dunno about Liddell?

Stevie is a very good captain whereas Souness was an absolutely magnificent skipper. Not a fair comparison.

Gerrard is a smart lad, says the right things and is an inspirational player. He has improved his captaincy over the years, but the view he was ever a poor Captain was always exaggerated.

He wouldn't be my mate though. He's still a bit of a scum bag at heart and hangs out with scally morons.
